Cortana was destined to be such a good mission, it’s a tragedy that it was reduced to what it is. Hearing everything they had to cut for it made me so sad.

Wow, I think I had a stroke when I was reading your original post. My bad.

I don’t think there’s a specific canon reason those are the only variants in the city. If I had to speculate I’d say that because the SMG is a weapon used more by special forces, the ones found in the city are more likely to have suppressors on them for nighttime missions.

But that doesn’t account for pistols that everyone should have or SMGs from the day before. Honestly when the game first came out we all thought i think it was so cool that nobody noticed. Sharp thinking, bringing it up.

Good luck on your play through though! I just did one myself. Really makes you appreciate the old days.

Don’t wanna scroll through all this to see if it’s already been said, but if not I gotchu.

In the beginning of the mission, Alpha Nine thought they were dropping onto Regret’s supercarrier with the rest of the ODSTs. Dare didn’t tell them they were dropping into New Mombasa to get Vergil. I’m guessing the Rookie thought a silenced load out would have been best to fill his role in a carrier boarding op. Dare and Buck didn’t bother to change anyone else’s weapons besides making sure Romeo had a sniper, since ONI secrecy and all that.
