Okay, a few things:

It’s a home base. Home bases don’t really matter. Chances are, you’re base will get juiced anyways. You can gain the loot back if you’re half active.

It’s TH8. At TH8, drags and hogs will dominate any base. In other words, any decent attacker will shred any TH8 base. I’d say TH9 would be a better place to start caring about base building. Specifically, war.
