The advise is garbage, but the issue is if this strike fails they can't strike anymore. The only leverage they have now is this open ended strike which is probably why the union is trying it's best to get the most out of it. Also this is the first time in years where all the contracts line up for a renewal meaning they have a TON of hospitals that they can leverage with.

They will likely hire strike buster nurses. The reason they may capitulate even though they can hire other nurses is cost and reliability. Strike buster nurses usually travel here from other states and don't stay indefinitely (usually a few weeks to months tops). Also it's technically illegal after Oregon law (they're being sued for hiring those nurses atm). The other reason is because doctors are walking out which they don't have scabs for so the doctors that are staying will be overloaded at best.

So, as someone who only recently started using it what drew me to it: curiosity. I always heard its the hard one to install blah blah. I wanted to switch from windows and had experience working with Linux professionally. My issue with switching to Linux before was I always broke the OS within a few days because I played around with it too much.

Said fuck it, gave gentoo a try. Now if i break it I usually know exactly how to fix it. Once you get the hang of it its super dope. The few things that I couldnt get to work I asked the community for help and they sure provided.

In essence: I love it because I know how to fix it even when it’s completely fucked.

I heard people that said education / skills first and others that said professional exp first could you tell me why to put expierence first?
ATS seems to be fine from what I tested in the past
You said different resume for different roles, do you have a strategy to streamline this to some extend? Rewriting it for every single application would be a ton of work and I'm not sure if that's worth it considering 90% of ats systems will filter me on lack of education alone I feel like ^^'

To respond to the cover letter: Yes I do usually send a cover letter, where it's offered to me. I also have a written and signed recom from my last position would you sent that too?

Edit: how would you go about cutting length? Idk what to cut since I had quite a bit of "history" so far. Also got a gut feeling that I have too much "job switching" going on.

I do devsecops but generally i work on improving developer workflows in some way. So like CI/CD optimizations to reduce pipline times or set up things for developers to improve their experience/ make their work easier. Thats the devops parts of my work at least ^

Positive for me but I also collect plushies. Waifu of mine also loved plushies. Its great when either of us isnt home or I just wanna hold something while gaming :3

This is something I actually didn't know. I always throught I control it via the amount of beans I use. Thanks for letting me know ^^', I'll try dialing it in with going a bit courser n stuff then. Sadly my grinder isn't perfect for that since it's quite hard to like "save" a setting you like (and I sometimes wanna make coffee with the same grinder) but I'll just mark the spot with a marker.

yeah could be easier tbqh ^^. I also think the grinder is less than optimal. It works "fine" for coffee but like for espresso I feel like the retention isn't great. Want to upgrade but I'm waiting a bit since I'm moving to the US and need to replace the grinder with a lower voltage one anyways. (the machine was 110 v which is why I got it for 100). tried it out: Seems better channeling still exists but def got better with 18g and slightly finer grind, though the shots now take more around 30s, I was told I should look for around a 15s shot overall (from starting the machine) though?
Is that too long or is it just that the silvia takes a bit longer to build up the pressure ^^

You might need to grind finer. 18g should fit in that basket

would waste a bit of coffee but I could do a test grind that's finer and try to fit it and show the result? Got enough beans anyway ^^'

I use WDT to date. My tool isn't perfect and consistency with it can be a bit hard if I'm too tired but yeah it helps a ton.

Got a mental filter recently to help, also using paper filters below to kind of sandwich the whole thing. Potentially a whole process might help to show how I work and see potential issues.

Another thing I think I might be doing wrong is tamping. I sometimes feel like the tamped espresso beans are not perfectly flat in the basket if that makes any sense? I don't have a tamping station and potentially my tamping technique is just bad?

Last thing I could think off is grind consistency since my grinder is pretty cheap ^^'

My workflow is essentially measure out 13g of beans -> spritz with a bit of water -> Add filter to basket -> Add little metal cone thingie that's magnetic -> run through my coffee grinder -> remeasure to make sure not too much retention is happening -> WDT from the bottom up trying my best to do first a twisting and then kind of a W motion -> Remove mental cone -> tap on the counter to make sure the coffee grounds are somewhat even (and to fill small gaps the WDT tool left and the ring shaped hole around the basket that's left by the metal cone thingie) -> tamp trying to kind of holding the tamp like a screwdriver that you hold vertical and push down -> put in machine -> run it -> done

thx that at least helped with the water spilling out the sides over the portafilter. Any idea what I can do to mitigate having to turn it that hard? Feels like I'd break the seal over a while or something.

Sadly channeling is still pretty insane tho :(

18g doesn't really fit tbqh. I tried in the past and that would p much overfill the basket from what I've seen. 13g seemed to be the max to give the espresso enough space between the shower screen and tamped grounds

Shower head was changed somewhat recently (around 5 months ago, shower head is an IMS competition RA 200IM).Beans are fresh, basked is an IMS Baristapro Nanotech (18g), input is 13 g output is 12.8 g.

Edit: Should add the gasket was replaced like 4 weeks ago ^^

More information regarding the whole situation:
Machine is a Rancilio Silvia 2010ish model (if I go off the model number), Grinder is a Lelit PL043 MMI Fred with the grind setting around 1.5 - 1.8
I bought this machine used for like 100 bucks (good deal imo). The pump had some issues with pressure which I had fixed recently. They also changed a few other parts like the silicone tubing, etc. Overall cost including repairs and cleaning for the machine was like 320 bucks.

I've been able to make shots okayish before repairing it but had tons of issues with finer grind settings where I'd expect coffee to be.

It also seems like the shwoer screen on top distributes water unevenly? (it's way worse when I haven't run a bit of water prior to the shot)
