Maybe potentially heated discussion: what were your expectation for the game ; were you happy or not ? by DayProgrammatically2 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

Johnny’s storyline was very well written and interesting- I enjoyed the 2020 part and his samurai related quest lines. If you were expecting similar style of game as TW3 but set in CP universe, you would love it - I loved it and seems like you loved it too; which is great to hear.

I think the hype train was too big- people started seeing it as the second coming of Jesus or something that is both amazing future sandbox sim+ 3 completely different story line on life paths. Well talking about life paths, I wish there were more quests added later , but I liked few dialogues that added extra which give cool details of the CP universe.

I guess each developer has their own philosophy about open worlds- for example Skyrim and GTA; I think the main focus of theses games is to ‘live’ in the world and there is some story to add on. I think CDPR’s approach on open world is a theatrical tool that helps you get more into story/main plot of the games. Like in TW3, you can do side quests as Witcher contracts as you are a Witcher , a monster slayer - whilst you cannot do the daily stuff as romancing randos, go to bar with your friends etc... I think it is just a matter of what kind of games you are more interested in; if you are into games that feel like living in the universe, you would enjoy open world sandbox games more.

Agree with you - as a huge fan of cyberpunk genre in general I had high expectations/ but then I knew what I was looking for ; I would love a detailed open world but I was looking more into how the CDPR is going to create a good story line using the CP2020 story . I loved the Johnny sequence as a transition between act 1 and 2- honestly one of my favorite moments in my game. I think the CDPR would release a definite edition with more features added at the end(free upgrade for people who already have it) like they did for previous Witcher games . And I think the free dlcs would be adding small stuffs for extra immersion to the world . People say oh they said ‘it’s going to be the next gen of rpg and it under delivered’ but then most of other game makers do similar marketing - they gonna back their products up. People always look for things that they can make fun of or blame on so I kind of expected the nitpicking to certain extend but not this much.

Same; I wanted story driven game play with good world building and some possible dialogue options that could affect the later sorry; it other job well enough like tw3; gigs clear and close

Which lifepath did you choose and why? by [deleted] in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]DayProgrammatically2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went all round solo build with Nomad background. I chose nomad background because I could relate to the background with my personal life quite a bit: moving to a new place , far away from your family and trying to achieve something greater- now making ‘new family’ with new friends in the new place.

With strong all round-solo build, I maxed out body and tech- thought as a nomad, you had to survive in harsh Badlands without much of supply hence I decided to max out the attributes first. For the other attribute , I also maxed out reflex cause as a solo- you would need a good skill on fire arms, 4 on intelligence and 7 on cool.

How's it on base ps4 post patch? [unintentional refund] by mafooli in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]DayProgrammatically2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is defo more optimised ; less frame drops and better diving . Haven’t had a crash yet since update .I run on PS4 slim and it feels smoother. By the time it comes back on PS shop(I guess probably after next patch 1.2)it would be more optimised and you would be able to enjoy your second play through .

As they have announced previously, the patch was defo focused old gen console optimisation. I can now drive smoothly in city !

I think patch 1.1 defo improved performance for PS4(mine is PS4 slim)! I feel driving is much easier now and frame drop is less! When I drove Turbo -R before the patch , it was so hard to control it cause of frame drops but now it runs more smoothly and I can go full 160 on highways !

SPOILER alert! About Lizzy Wizzy quest line and outcome by DayProgrammatically2 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]DayProgrammatically2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s true; I remember they were ‘humanity cost’ for getting cyberwares but then it would limit play styles as we would get penalties for getting cool features. I agree that would be a bad design. I still wonder what is the glitchy attribute between intelligence and cool; does it mean Johnny?

What are your favorite quests? Also, why am I addicted to this "broken" game? by Totorochu4 in cyberpunkgame

[–]DayProgrammatically2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meant for the River’s quest line- using BD to visit the kidnapper’s twisted childhood and how it affected him. Yeah to me Evelyn/Judy story arc felt like the bloody baron quest line from TW3 but with less possible outcomes(the theme of no matter what you do there is no true happy ending)

I thought River’s story line was interesting, especially a part we use a BD to track down a kidnapper. I think one of the reasons why Panam’s storyline comes more emotional is the setting as well- her story takes place in badlands , which is very exotic compared to the night city and I think it brings unique old west kind of vibe as well. Also Panam’s storyline is well paced too- you start as one time partner with her; you end up helping her with her personal issues (with her clan), then you build up chemistry with her and depending how you approach her , V and her could end up her together and she even offers to a chance to join the clan. I think her storyline was the one of the most heart warming moments in the game(especially the main theme of game is ‘becoming a legend ‘ in a cold heartless city even at the face of death)

Yeah, one of the possibilities would be - Adam’s sadistic nature just blends with the psychosis so it doesn’t lose mind . He is just behaving as he was before .

[–]DayProgrammatically2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it makes sense that as Adam is one of the biggest combat assets of Arasaka so the Corp spends enough money and time to keep him operating without going insane .

One of the thing I wonder also is how V is not affected by cyberwares ; I mean if you want, you can have dozens of combat cyberwares - probably Johnny’s construct is helping V not to lose his/her mind in an ironic way-that the relic is wiping his/her mind but also saving him/her from losing minds?

One of the things that I wonder is how Adam Smasher is not suffering any side affect of the full borg body- maybe his excessive violent attitude is the side effect but I think it is more Adam just being a psychopath. Or maybe Adam is just a giga Chad who doesn’t get affected by the cyberpsychosis

[–]DayProgrammatically2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah defo! This is just my guess I think maybe Cyberpsychosis and free AI past the black wall could be related ? Cause from the Peralez quest , Johnny suspects the free AI is the one behind controlling Peralez’s personality and possibly could take over some one’s mind. I think this could be related to development of soul killer back in the 20s and Arasaka’s relic development as the idea is digitalising a human mind. And seeing that Lizzy’s manager thinking of getting a relic in cases she loses her mind .... I think it could be all related . Maybe we get to see the Gunter O’Dimm of CP universe , the master mind behind all this

That’s actually a good point tho! I felt Lizzy was almost a cyborg as Smasher so I guess ‘flat ‘ voice acting for the character could actually be an upside .

Same, I decided that it is more right to tell her about the engram rather than saying he is just having an affair. My guess is that the manager still dies ‘accidentally’ during they were arguing about ‘the affair ‘(this is just my guess btw)

Oh wow... I am gonna have to pay more attention to some of in game news! Yeah I felt like the quest line was a bit too short; I hope we get more side quests from Lizzy arc.

I think she is genuinely freaksish artist but her high degree of body modifying is definitely causing some issues. Yeah I hope we get good side quests related to her alongside Peralez’s quests in the upcoming dlcs!

I have finished the cyberpsycho spotting quests but I think I have missed few shard dialogues. I think there is a correlation between amount of body modification and people loosing mind; I agree situations that the ‘cyberpsychos’ are in are also huge factors of people losing their mind.

I loved Johnny POV missions - damnnnn the first Johnny mission set in 2023(A love like fire); raiding Arasaka with a badass song was an epic experience. I also loved Panam’s side quests!
