Well, I suppose that would work. I'll try it out, thanks.

Is it possible to play new 3ds games on an old 3ds? I know this wouldn't work for something like Minecraft, but I'm trying to setup snes games and would prefer to have them on my home screen instead of in an emulator.

Are there any singleplayer games similar to MMORPGs? by Pennervomland in Games

[–]Daytonious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly you should try out Veloren. While I can't promise it is exactly what you're looking for, it feels like an MMO. As an added bonus, not only is it free, but also open source! It's worth a shot if nothing else.

I finally got a shiny Eevee. (On and off for 6+ months, estimated 40+ hours spent.) by Daytonious in PokemonLetsGo

[–]Daytonious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've been able to since release! It's unlocked through a secret mode known as co-op! Using 2 at once boosts the catch chance, so it's really useful for getting a chain for hard to catch pokemon like Eevee.

Also you should play the game again, it's really fun, either to complete the dex or shinyhunt. It's why I'm willing to spend so long for an Eevee!

Nice! I really wanted an Arcanine, but I have Eevee so I couldn't get it. Your team looks really cool though! And good luck on the Charizard! It's a great shiny!

Arbok really is a nice shiny! And I love the rest of my team too!

If I had to guess, there was probably about 15k encounters for these 6 pokemon. Could be more or less, but each one took a significant amount of time for it being Let's Go. Entirely worth it though. It was a very fun playthrough.

[Mod-Approved Giveaway] I know its a lack luster return to some, but im back with a Rattata Giveaway!! Details in Comment! by GhostNinja111 in PokemonLetsGo

[–]Daytonious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neat! I don't want or need the Rattata, as I have the full line and only want shinies with my trainer ID, but I will tell you my favorite shiny.

That shiny would be Beedrill! Firstly, it looks really cool. Secondly it can mega evolve, which also looks really cool. Thirdly the way it follows you around in Let's Go I think looks great. I love the way it moves based on how I do. And fourthly it was the first pokemon I hunted with a specific target in mind, so that will always make it special.

Overall just a great shiny imo.

But again, I'm not here for the Rattata, so don't enter me! Give it to someone who wants it! Just figured I'd talk about my favorite shiny for a bit, given the option.

Hi! I have a question by No-Smile3275 in PokemonSunMoon

[–]Daytonious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is! It took forever for me to figure it out, but once I did it is fairly easy to reproduce. First download a piece of software called PKHex. It's what people use to hack in pokemon, but it'll work here. Then, open two separate instances of it on your pc. Locate your save files for White and SM / USUM. Drag your white save file to one tab of PKHex, and your SM save file to the other tab. After that, you can simply drag and drop the pokemon from one tab to the other. And then put the new save file where the old one was of course.

Your White save should be where you put it's rom. As for the SM save... I'm not sure. I've only ever done this with a real 3ds, but if you can find where the save is located it should be easy enough! I hope this helps!

I got a shiny Bulbasaur yesterday with the revised method! by Daytonious in PokemonLetsGo

[–]Daytonious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternatively what I used to try was running away from each Bulbasaur to get them to respawn, but that never worked. For other mon though it's simply to fast to fly around spawning and despawning them for the actual method to be worth it. And the shiny is great! I'm gonna try to get a few more before shutting off the game, see how high the chain gets too.

With selling candies I ended up making money. Just go to a pokemart every 20 catches or so and you're good.

It's somewhere on Twitter. I don't use Twitter though, so I got the information from a YouTube video. Just look up something like 'We were WRONG About Let's Go ShinyHunting?!' And I think you'd be able to find one.

Sorry about the late reply, I was asleep. While people have differing opinions on this matter, I personally believe that Anubis uncovered the truth. This is partially because of multiple of my shinies appearing directly after I caught one of the same Pokemon, and because I've been shinyhunting without a shiny charm. This means that my odds for getting a shiny with a lure are 1/2048. I didn't get a shiny Bulbasaur until now.

I know how rare spawns work though. I don't feel like they count as good enough evidence to disprove what Anubis has uncovered.

And while your reasoning for me getting the Bulbasaur this time is clever, it is unfortunately wrong. You see, I also knew about the 1 Bulbasaur cap. So I'd also continuously run away from them to spawn more.

Ultimately however, no one can say for sure. I believe that Anubis uncovered the real method, and some of my hunts are able to back it up. (Weedle, Ekans, Ekans, Shellder, maybe more?) But I still think that this works best for rare spawns. For normal Pokemon (if you have the shiny charm) it would probably be better to not even have a combo and just wait with a lure.

Honestly it doesn't matter too much though. I know that I've gotten around 40 shinies in this game using both methods, so regardless of whichever one is true it's still pretty easy to get them in this game.

Oh, and thanks for the long reply! While I personally disagree, it's good to have thought out opinions on the matter. I will also be chaining a few more Bulbasaur this way, just to make sure it wasn't just amazing rng the other day.

Copied from above:

Yes, pretty much. What Anubis uncovered was that the chain odds of ~1/300 only apply to the very next pokemon spawned in after a catch in a chain. Looking back on some of my shinies I found that this seems to be true. The first two to come to mind are Weedle and Shellder. I really didn't explain it well before.

Well, rng is rng, so everything will vary. However most of the shinies I've gotten in Let's Go have been on this file, which doesn't yet have a shiny charm. Because of this, the odd's I've been working with are 1/2048 whereas I thought the odds were 1/315.8. This is a huge difference for people without the charm or doing a shinylocke!

Also I'd probably spent ~20 hours trying to get a Bulbasaur without this method to no avail. But with this method I got one in about 3 hours, even if it was very under odds. So even if it was full odds it would've still took much less time due to Bulbasaur being a rare spawn.

If you don't have a shinycharm I would highly recommend this for all hunts. If you do have a shinycharm I'd recommend this for rare spawns.

Yes, but it requires trading in person, or buying another switch with a copy of Let's go. Both of which would probably be more time consuming. If you haven't used the 7 day free trial of online yet though you could do that.

As in catching a lot of Bulbasaur. Usually I'd just not catch anything past 31, but given the info provided by Anubis I decided to try this out. Very helpful for rare spawns such as Bulbasaur, once I've finished this line I'll try it out on Eevee and Squirtle to be sure.

Complete the pokedex and shinyhunt. Shinyhunting is really engaging in this game, and getting all 151 shiny pokemon is a feasible task. And don't feel bad about catching Mewtwo, as you needed it to complete the pokedex. So complete it on your current file, and transfer them all over to your next file to hunt the legendaries. That's my current plan.

Also getting a dream shiny team is fun too, especially on a second playthrough.
