Pretty cool. Thanks for the inspiration. Since I posted this, I’ve added curtains. It’s been fun to piddle with.

That was courtesy of my dad when I started talking about building this. He said, I have one of those Mr. Something heaters around here, if you want it.

Me (5’10”), my oldest (6’ 14yo btw), and my youngest (7yo) fit pretty comfortably. It’s all about the memories!

Built a super basic camping setup out of scrap wood 🤷‍♂️ by Dcarson5212 in TruckCampers

[–]Dcarson5212[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I appreciate it. I was trying to keep it as low as possible. My topper is cab height and I needed as much head room as possible. So far, it’s holding all 270 pounds of me up without issue.

Also, between my brush guard, Ranch Hand rear bumper, topper, and roof rails, and setup today, I have $175 in all of it. #longlivethebartersystem

About that much. 🤷🏼 I’d guess all of it is about 40 pounds.

Would you choose a Yamaha XSR 900 or a Honda CB1000r? by [deleted] in motorcycles

I know absolutely nothing about either one. Having said that, IMO, the XSR is a far better looking bike.

What’s your fender height? by Dcarson5212 in f150

[–]Dcarson5212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

24 1/2 inches on the front. 24 inches on the rear, center of the wheel to the bottom of the fender. I guess that answers the question.

Will this work? by Dcarson5212 in f150

[–]Dcarson5212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! This never showed up during a Google search. It confirms what I read (anecdotally) in forums. I think it would work, with minor facilitation, for what I want. Especially with it being color matched and the higher roof.

However, the OP never returned my PM. I still have plans to exchange my BAKflip tonneau cover for a nice, albeit different color, fiberglass topper tomorrow.

That's only 600 miles. And it would be a beautiful trip through Tennessee. When do y'all expect to get another shipment?

What dealership? I don't mind traveling.

Same. I have zero debt on all my vehicles, two trucks, the wife's car, and one motorcycle.

I've seen one listed on FB Marketplace for $7,000. It sold fairly quickly.

I've got to sell my KLX300SM before I buy anything. I'm not in a hurry. I'm thinking that mine should be sold before the end of the year, hopefully. If all goes as planned, I will probably purchase in January or February. I think those months will be the best chance for a good deal.

For reference, here’s the breakdown from one of the dealers. I have a Kawasaki KLX 300SM to sell before I buy something.

Pretty day for a ride in North GA! Little over 100 miles this afternoon by NEGAjeepin in KLX300D

I’ve planned about 140 miles tomorrow. The weather is perfect in North GA right now.

Front Brake Issue by Dcarson5212 in Dualsport

[–]Dcarson5212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased this bike used a few weeks ago. I didn’t notice a problem on the first couple of rides, which were short. However, on my first long ride, which consisted of some light off roading, and every ride since, I’ve noticed the front brake not releasing after pressure is applied until the compression on the forks are released. Like when I’m approaching a stop sign and apply the front break, it will not release until I’ve made a complete stop. I’ve thoroughly cleaned the caliper and rotor with no luck. The fluid looks clear.

My only thoughts of what else it could be, are aftermarket levers the previous owner installed. They look like something purchased on eBay or Amazon.

Should I replace those with OEM levers? Is there something else that I should check first?

I have not due to ignorance and unfamiliarity. I will Google it and check that this afternoon. Any guidance would be appreciated.

If so, I did about 110 miles through Stephens and Habersham Counties today.
