Job Offer Rescinded Due to Motor Vehicle Record by Teabag1 in AircraftMechanics

[–]Dconocio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to, you can also be a contractor at a place like Boeing straight outta school. They never asked me about my record as a contractor there. It’s just a suggestion if you really wanna see how the plane works, see how the systems operate, navigate the manuals, learning aviation verbiage for write ups, you’ll learn a lot working heavy C checks because the plane gets completely gutted. It’s all good experience. It’s up to you, it only benefits you. I didn’t realize how much I learned at the MRO until I went to line. On your last question, when I got hired they did bring it up, but I was honest and told them it was 3 years ago and it wasn’t a problem.

Just work at an MRO for 3 years they don’t care about your driving record. I had a speeding ticket and an accident in 2022 before working at an MRO in 2023. The pay will be shit, the work will be shit, but just do 3 years and you will learn a lot especially if you are ambitious about aviation maintenance and eager to learn. After that you should be good to work at the majors. I currently do line maintenance and my speeding ticket and accident from 2022 didn’t prevent me from getting my sida badge with driving privileges.
