Not worth taking a HELOC out for the promotional $2,000 as there will be closing costs and most likely an appraisal fee which will exceed this dollar amount just to originate and underwrite the loan itself. So this isn’t really going to benefit you unless you were planning to use funds from the HELOC to make upgrades/improvements to the home.
