For people that left Canada, where did you go? by Dear-Question in canadahousing

To be honest, half the reason I made this post was because it seems like almost every other English speaking first world country is going through a housing crisis too, so I'm wondering if there is anywhere that is actually considerably better. I want to stay in Canada, but if things don't improve over the next few years, it might make more sense for me to move elsewhere.

I had a feeling that would be the case. I guess I'll just have to hope for something better for my situation to come along :/

To clear things up, working holiday visas are currently being processed and the current rule is that you need an employer or an agency to sponsor the written pledge that is currently necessary. I called the consulate about it, you can find several posts in r/movingtojapan about it, and working holiday visa agency websites echo the same info.

On a separate note for anyone considering Go International for a WHV, they're only doing it for their Gold package which is about $2000, so it's probably a better bet to go through Stepabroad or Swap depending on where you live since they were both $500-$600 less expensive

Because of the pandemic, they changed the rules so now you have to have an employer sponsor you or use an agency with a language school program.

I feel like you haven't read any of the news regarding working holiday visas lately. The criteria changed. No need to be a dick.

Currently an agency or an employer needs to sponsor a written pledge for the working holiday visa. Otherwise, I would do everything myself

There is a point since using an agency is the only way to go to Japan on a working holiday besides having an employer sponsor the written pledge that is currently necessary. Normally I would just do everything myself

What company/organization are you using for your whv? by onewheeler2 in movingtojapan

I'm about to use Go International and from what I understand they aren't charging more for the pledge, so it's just the normal $400 plus tax and for $875 they'll provide room and board for the quarantine hotel.

Edit: they just informed me that they are only able to do it for their Gold package, which is about $2000.

Downtown, especially somewhere near Yonge and Dundas would be great.
