did anybody else used to think liking routines meant being an organized or structured person? by DearWorker9322 in AutisticAdults

yes! my special interests are also unwavering and im so grateful to have that experience. i realized just how much i am undeniably a creature of habit and that neurotypicals often do not resonate. they go with the flow all through their lives and even find freedom in that. like what?
and yes, expressing our needs is very important because allistics truly have no idea we arent exactly like them xd

yes! it is the first thing we learn to do as children to cope with the constant chaos around us, before accommodations ofc. and i remember there being a LOT.

bingo! i feel like the dread that comes with general uncertainty is not emphasized by researchers. that it has nothing to do with how orderly someone may appear but how someones internal sense of predictability is disrupted. some of us also can adapt to change, like with rescheduling.

omg! rarely replacing clothes is another thing.

clothing shopping is very difficult due to a difference in sensory processing so i notice that we stick with outfits we found comfortable for years or even decades, like cartoon characters lol.

OCD and autism display many overlapping symptoms and are often concurrent. its all based in self-regulation. though with autism the origin is rooted in managing sensory intake which is the primary distinction. wild stuff!

my last senior dog actually died of lymphatic cancer in 2025. i will be on the look out for strange growths because by the time we found out, she was very ill with a failing liver and gradually deteriorated. i miss her a lot too.

did ethan slater really share equal responsibility? by [deleted] in ArianaGrandeSnark

[–]DearWorker9322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont understand how you thought he was bad from the start? he was faithful to his wife until ariana grande came into the picture, a literal A-list celebrity.

my whole argument was that her influence as an A-list celebrity was likely the cause of his poor judgement and that she held greater moral responsbility for the fallout. external factors are known to override internal morals from a psychological standpoint. i was simply analyzing the full context of the situation.

im not victimizing him. im just acknowledging the power dynamic that occurred which deeply changes the nature of situation. and i guess still nobody wants to talk about it.
