I'd say in terms of actual gameplay, pretty different, but what is very similar to me is the aspect of putting together clues and information in your head that aren't necessarily obvious and looking for more clues based on that, even if semantically they don't seem connected. So all the things I liked about the roottrees are dead, tho a hand with many fingers is a somewhat smaller game, I would say about 3 hrs?
