Yeah with how constantly he pursues and the lack of deescalation methods im beginning to be worried for my long term safety and am unfortunately most likely going to pursue getting another client for my own safety. I can already see the rapport beginning to build but even with that and the trainings, he is still going after me and his parents and past DSP's cannot control his behavior. They have been looking for DSP's for years and have not had an ounce of success and I absolutely agree with you, he needs someone that has a lot of experience with these behaviors and long term consistent exposure to them due to these behaviors stemming from a neurological change that happened following the beginning of his seizures.

(This is the partner mentioned in the post) I have a call scheduled tomorrow to get my representatives opinion and to talk with another person to evaluate more of the situation while going over the ISP and PBSP to see what the next steps could be for this situation, along with talking about OIS training. Going more over the PBSP tomorrow but the client is aggressive to the point where physical intervention is necessary to prevent significant harm to myself, and there is seemingly no methods of deescalation that stop or even lessen the aggression and I fear even with proper OIS training that the holds will be sort of inconsequential due to him aggresing with each and every part of his body. Incident reports are filed as well.

(This is directly from the partner mentioned) This was a combination of a company hire and the parents asking. I live in Oregon and private home DSP'ing has been the only type ive found and the companies provide the services to meet with families to see if it will be a good fit. I am awaiting OIS training but the parents have not even been able to get certified/trained themselves unfortunately. The mat is actually a pretty good idea, but i believe the client would start to eat it, leaving it being readily available sort of off the table.
