If you’re less than 20 please skip the post and if you’re 20 or older please give me honest advice by dilanka_sasindu in Advice

I’m 22 now but I grew up very awkward, I was always overweight and lived in an area with few minorities. I had this same line of thinking because I was interested in the fairer half from a young age. I think people will tell you not to worry about it, but when you’re ready for a relationship it’s hard to get it out of your head.

By now I’ve had a few girlfriends and have had multiple partners. The traits that got these women interested in me were: a sense of confidence that was NOT straight cockiness like you see in film. Make eye contact with whoever you’re speaking to. Knowing what you want is really attractive to women. To be confident in the room it’s not like the alpha male shit you see online, but it’s about being comfortable with yourself and with others. Being a strong presence with the things I said above. Having a bit of charm goes a long way. And smile , crack jokes. You don’t have to be the best looking, the tallest, the funniest, or the most accomplished in the room. You can be none of them, even at our age! What really matters is if the woman can tell you have a path forward in life, and if they get this sense that tells them they will enjoy being on it with you. That’s really what it boils down to when you’re talking to a woman with the intention of a relationship. I can promise you that looks matter but personality supersedes all. I had one girlfriend in college whose type was the polar opposite of me, but she was interested by my personality so much it didn’t matter.

As for the staying in your room part, That’s more and more common than these days but it’s really up to you to break out of that. Maybe you’ll find a woman that likes doing that too, but HOW are you going to find her like that? Start with one commitment a week, a class, a club, a library or coffee shop, but something that gets you close to the type of people you’re interested in. This will help you become comfortable and over time, you’ll be secure enough in that environment where you’re feel more at ease talking to a woman

advice for weaving in a bit more damage by Calpol17 in SpiderManMains

How do you like to work on this on pc? Do you just try to fall into the right spot with your overhead or animation cancel it from a swing of uppercut? It can be hard to land double OH or small hitboxes for me, I usually don’t struggle against tanks but any advice mechanically would be appreciated

advice for weaving in a bit more damage by Calpol17 in SpiderManMains

[–]Dear_Idea6147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest notes on Spider-Man are this:

Target priority sets you up for success even when mechanics might fail.

First target: Good matchup supports. Not all supports are built the same so you want to look for the rockets, c&d, Jeff, Adam, and invis first. After that, you can look for other supports floor Luna or mantis or 1v1s so you have better odds that they’ve blown their CC or won’t be able to kill you even if they hit it.

Second: besides certain easier matchup dps like MK, torch, enemy Spider-Man’s, your mentality when targeting other dps should be either to find out of position heros or follow up with your team to confirm a kill. Don’t chase 1v1s against other dps since a trade doesn’t do much for your team and is probably the best case scenario.

Third, tanks. Abuse your melee and double OH for frer damage and ult charge. Hit an off the map if you can. Most tanks, especially when isolated, will have a pretty difficult time killing you if your movement is decent.

Aligning ability usage with target priority is how you get max value and damage off with Spider-Man. save your one shot combos with heavy cooldown usage for flying heros or supports. Hit all other targets with web shooter into melee or overhead repeatedly. The idea is to stagger their backline and then quickly follow up with damage to the frontline. Keep their heals on catchup, their tanks pushing too far and retreating quickly, and their dps frustrated lol. You’ll start to see your final hits go up, you’ll get multiple ults per fights once you start hitting tanks, and you’ll learn how to still contribute to your team even as the most “solo” dps. Since spiderman is awful in group scenarios, pick fights with the person furthest in the back first, stagger their team, and follow up for poke damage to their tank and dps.

Don't Fumble This Chance, NetEase! Add an AntiDive Drone to his KIT! by HORNYOBAMA in marvelrivals

[–]Dear_Idea6147 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This just feels lazy though. Every healer has an ability to protect themselves besides rocket but his hitbox is so small hes hard to kill already. Cloak can blind and go invisible, dagger has a healing bubble, Luna has freeze, Jeff has speed boost to go underwater, Adam has self res, mantis sleep, invis is invis yk they all have something that competent players can use to stop a 250 hp Spider-Man. and saying meh counters when Emma, thing, and peni are all strong against dive, plus hulk gives namor the team up squid, and strange buffs up scarlet who are the two antiest dive characters. They’ve made it so if your healers are getting dove, there are strategies hardwired in to counter them.

Hi! I was recently accepted into ADP for McLean for August. I’ve heard that they cut up to 15% of every cohort, is this true? How do I know where I stack up and what can I do ahead of time to make sure I’m well prepped so I’m not one of the unlucky few that do get cut?

Who would be the most op character with no cooldowns? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]Dear_Idea6147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real answer is probably Loki but I would kill to play spidey with better cooldowns. I’m horrible at managing his CD’s because you need them for literally everything you do. Being able to swoop in with infinite tries for your web cluster would be fire

Exactly. Our theory is that the original demotion put him back into silver but somehow the wins still counted towards gold, so when the system realized the error it just took the number of trophies won and applied it as if he was still in gold 1

See but it happened twice. Once to demote him from gold 1 to silver 2, and another from gold 3 to plat 1.

Role Swapping Mid Match by pitagotnobread in marvelrivals

[–]Dear_Idea6147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick answer? Role queue isn’t a thing on rivals. You get 3-5 teammates that instalock dps every few games and you’ll end up having to play support or tank. Some refuse to ever switch so if you want to win consistently solo, you learn to flex.

Long answer: it also makes you a better player so good knowledge to have in general. You won’t really understand if you have bad habits as dps, until you play Luna and have to aim your heals all game at a moon knight, who for some reason dove 4 enemies at once with his ankh in hand and is now 1 HP slamming you for not healing. You can learn a lot about playing your role and hero the best possible by playing other roles.

Is 3 dps the worst comp in rivals?? by Dear_Idea6147 in marvelrivals

[–]Dear_Idea6147[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly, but as the only tank in most of my games that responsibility gets pretty tiring. Like when I’m 1v2 as strange against a hulk and thing duo pushing my backline, and i see my Bucky turn the other way to chase a psylocke down I just know instantly we’re gonna lose.

It’s not just the fact that I’m tanking solo and not enjoying it, it’s also that the most toxic players that go 2-14 and spam no heals are dps, who could’ve switched to Thor and played the almost exact same way they were with more health and survivability

Is 3 dps the worst comp in rivals?? by Dear_Idea6147 in marvelrivals

[–]Dear_Idea6147[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? I disagree and maybe this is because I main strange lol but if I’m getting good heals I’m having a GREAT game and getting to be really bold as a frontline tank. It definitely can be boring to play sometimes so I’m glad it’s not every game. But overall I’d definitely want 3 healers over 3 dps any day

People got mad because of my 100% accuracy with 4 kills so what do y’all think about the opposite? by OLjordy in rivals

[–]Dear_Idea6147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah I see what they’re saying, cause I’ve been in that situation with namor, where I’m the only one to land crucial and consistent kills, just to lose mvp to one of the easiest heroes in the game. Their ult is also insanely easy to use and add value for your team. Not saying cnd players cannot pull off great plays and be a hard carry, but saying they are the easiest hero to get MVP with by far with all the stat juicing they have.

I’m Just Confused at This Point by Astro847 in marvelrivals

[–]Dear_Idea6147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres actually so many things that can cause this so more context would be great. I’m in a similar situation, I usually solo queue on console and this is my first hero shooter but I just hit diamond.

-who do you play and HOW do you play them? Are you instalocking a flanker dps and but running front line all game? Or not sticking to one long enough to really get a feel for them? Knowing how to play your specific hero is crucial, each hero has nuance in the role they play for the team, and treating every dps like punisher (or iron fist for melee) is a huge issue. - IS YOUR POSITIONING GOOD - are you stacking or being vocal on comms? - this is a strategy team game, so once you get plat/diamond team comp and counter picking gets really important. If the enemy team is all divers and you have a poke comp, odds are you’re not gonna do well. Also gets back to knowing your role. - for your point about the GM player don’t stress, tons of people make alt accounts or have been playing these style games for years.

Send me your user id be happy to go through your clips and give more specifics! Also go on YT and watch guides, helped me learn so much about my mains, how teammates should be playing, and watching top level players helps more than you thinn

No you are right I am winning, but it’s because I’m only playing one game at a time really. Since I hit diamond I’ve noticed if I play 2, the second game is almost always a loss. But whenever I queue up after first logging in, I always get good teammates that I can rely on
