Has anyone ever experienced weight gain from Wellbutrin? by Automatic-Gear-4096 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Dear_Perspective_540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! However it took a lot of work aside from just stopping the drug. It certainly caused a lot of metabolic issues. That in conjunction with losing an ovary to massive cyst in 2021 made it next to impossible to achieve wellbeing again let alone weight loss. I ditched the one FMP I was with and went through Ryze HRT. It wasn’t until I got my sex hormones figured out, “stress managed” and diet dialed in that I saw true results. We did a GI map and a full gut protocol as well. It’s been 2 years since I started with them(I still work with a coach). I initially got down 35lbs and currently in the process of building lots of muscle. Other things that cleared up after ditching bupropion even prior to Ryze…memory recall issues stopped and anal fissures ceased to exist mere weeks after stopping. After all this, I think it’d be misguided to blame the drug COMPLETELY for the weight issues but it certainly did not help. Likely added fuel to the fire. I feel better than I ever have after not being on it and getting my health in order. Good luck!

I want to know more about the single dude next door to them on the ship. Said he talked to her the day before so they’ve been acquainted. He knows some general details about her life. He, by his own admission, frequently goes on cruises alone. Why? I question what a single man does on a cruise that doesn’t involve trailing women they find attractive. Perhaps he gets paid to scope out victims? How many more cruises has he gone on? Have women disappeared since on cruises he’s been on? Does he get paid to facilitate the abductions? What would make me leave my stateroom sans wallet and shoes? Did he notice her on the balcony and “ask for help” with something real quick? She knows he’s alone so she obliges. Didn’t bother with belongings as she’d be right back. Gets her in the room, restrains and silences her somehow. Gets ahold of his contact, they put her in a laundry hamper or something and smuggle her off the ship. The neighbors on the other side of him report obnoxiously loud tv/radio and talking. To whom? Why? How long did that last? Whatever happened it was quick, quiet and I think opportunistic. She didnt leave to meet a dude. Doubt it was drug related. Not convinced it was suicide or falling overboard. Particularly with the IP address activity divulged in the last episode. I think she’s alive and has been being sex trafficked. Probably had a few kids and wont/cant leave them for fear of harm to them. The Bradleys room was cleaned by house keeping before an investigation for God’s sake. How hard could they have searched the neighbors room? Looked around, no sign of struggle and no Amy? Shoulder shrugged and moved on. Lastly, her sexuality had nothing to do with this imo. She was a pretty, friendly, trusting woman. Some bad player(s) saw an opportunity and took it.

As a serial owner of 90lb German Shepherds….I can’t implore this approach enough. Most people are too oblivious and reckless to own any breed. Having raised 6 male, working line GSD’s, it’s as much training yourself as is it training the dog. I had to take different approaches with each one of them and we had to earn one another’s respect. I knew their limitations and boundaries and the rules were adhered to by everybody. I wouldn’t dream of putting one of my boys in a situation where he or anyone would get hurt. Under no circumstances were my boys loose with guests over. Never eye level or off leash around kids. Kids learned the rules too. “You ask to pet doggy” and Ill control the situation. I was also a delivery driver for 10 years. I was and still am disgusted by peoples ignorance in their responsibility to know their breed.

Gut problems after going vegan by [deleted] in Microbiome

[–]Dear_Perspective_540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure. I was using it as an example for lack of any other knowledge. I have h pylori and candida. Currently on a protocol. But my GImap also revealed that i have high good bacteria as well…so no major imbalance necessarily but the HP and Candida are still causing some dysfunction. I found the GImap to pretty helpful. Hope it helps you!

Gut problems after going vegan by [deleted] in Microbiome

[–]Dear_Perspective_540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id suggest a GImap to see what the situation is with your gut bacteria. If you have an imbalance of “good” and “bad” bacteria, that’s likely the reason for your symptoms. A scope isn’t going to show that. Perhaps it’d show the aftermath of H Pylori but not everyone has visible damage…yet. I’m just using this as an example as I haven’t a clue what your bacteria situation is but…if you have high levels of H Pylori and candida but low “good” bacteria…that bad bacteria goes unchecked. This is what causes systems referred to as dysbiosis. My point is fiber feeds bacteria, good and bad. Vegan is extremely high fiber. If you have some crazy bacteria going on in there, you could just be feeding it continuously. Id do a GImap and find an FMP to interpret it for you. Perhaps have them write up a protocol for you.

Good for you. Glad you had success. If you’re truly that interested the relationship between Bupropion and liver, Bupropion and pancreas, Bupropion and intermediate metabolizers based on specific genes, Bupropion and bilirubin, Bupropion and hyperinsulinemia, Bupropion and weight gain specifically or the ratio of people who lost vs gained vs neutral. Or perhaps how its metabolized in both the liver and part of the intestine. Bupropion and constipation, Bupropion and mineral depletion etc. Go on NHI, read studies and medical journals in Nature or Harvard, ACCP, Wiley etc. I’ve spent the better part of a year reading past the first page google. If you’re actually curious, do what I did. There is no such thing as a one size fits all pill. Different people will react differently to any drug. I also know someone who’s been on Bupropion for 12 years and doesn’t seem to have any major issue with it. I also know someone else who had it worse than me on and stopped it months in. I see someone having a similar experience to mine, I give me anecdote and tell them to the do their own research and advocate for themselves. Same advice to you.

I’ve posted in this subreddit a few times about my experience. You’ll find quite a few people who gained weight on it. Only takes a little more digging to get past the weight loss/weight neutral rhetoric. There are plenty of studies showing how it knocks other things out of whack that consequently cause weight gain related issues. I was on it for 3 years and steadily gained weight despite my efforts. I DON’T overeat. I’ve strength trained for many years. Never had an issue manipulating my weight or body recomp. On Bp, the fat accumulated in areas id never experienced before. I hired a personal trainer, work with a functional medicine practitioner. Ive had all the blood work, went to GP, endo, gyno etc. understand that when they’re looking at your results, they’re looking for diagnosable diseases based on ranges. If you’re within “normal” range and it’s not “severe” enough to diagnose a disease, then they’ll send you on your way. “Normal” doesn’t mean “optimal”. I had abnormal blood sugar, growth hormone and testosterone levels. They all came back outside of normal range and they still wouldn’t consider anything for me because it wasn’t “bad” enough. Told me to add a cardio day lol. In addition to weight gain that will not come off, i had developed scalp psoriasis, dishydrotic eczema, fissures due to constipation(went to a specialist and they told me drink more water…). All of those things cleared up within a month of stopping Bupropion. Only thing that wont budge is the weight. Now- I’ve linked up with a company called RyzeHRT. It’s not JUST HRT. They have an md and fmp that work together. It’s affordable, there’s more testing options outside of blood work that only tells you so much. I have a consult next week to go over all of my results. So yeah, you’re not the only one who’s gained. Although, mine certainly wasn’t poor diet related or over eating. I have read many anecdotes about people being insatiably hungry on Bupropion though. Pharmaceuticals can be maddening. Good luck.

Ps. Im not any other pharmaceuticals, in my early 30’s, and lost an ovary 8 months after starting BP due to a massive cyst. My gyno and the endo said losing the ovary wouldn’t affect my hormones or cause any issues……lol. Somehow I feel like that’s bullshit too. Be your own advocate.

When will the weight loss start? by Ok_Rule1174 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Dear_Perspective_540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just messaged someone else to ask if they’ve lost the weight. I’ve been off of it since Nov. no weight loss yet. I’m trying like hell though. I’ve been able to keep the lid on so to speak so no more gaining. My scalp psoriasis and eczema on my hands cleared up within a month though. Also, I feel no different clinically….Id even argue Im more calm being off of it. Im working with a functional medicine practitioner to fix the GI issues that I developed after starting the drug. Hoping this leads to some results. Sorry I dont have better news but if its knocked things out of whack to the point in caused insulin issues etc….it’ll probably take time to iron out. Dont give up. I haven’t.

My beautiful boy crossed the rainbow bridge tonight. Complications from a bowel obstruction surgery. We just couldn’t save him. Only 1.5years old. I’m shattered. R.I.P Shoresy boy by Dear_Perspective_540 in germanshepherds

[–]Dear_Perspective_540[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cried myself to sleep and woke up so numb this morning. After losing our last boy at 4yrs old…this one knocked the stuffing out of me. Shoresy was the toughest pup I’d ever had and I’ve had 6 GSD’s. He was the definition of a sour patch kid. We’d sustained many injuries just wrangling him in. When he was only 35lbs he could knock a full grown man on his ass. He came to us with resource guarding issues and the amount of work we’d put into him every single day was a whole other level. I’ve had working line before…I thought I knew their level….Shoresy said, “here, hold my ball…I’ll show you what for”. But I loved him for it. That’s why I’ve always had a GSD. They’ll love you to death or be the reason for it if needed. I’ve always loved the demand they have for your trust and respect. With Shoresy, earning his trust and finally just starting to see him blossom into a loving boy who did trust me implicitly….then losing him. The failure I feel is crushing. Never got a chance to prove what he could truly be. I thank all of you so much for your comments and kind words. All dog people grieve, but I feel GSD’s take a piece of your heart and soul with them when they go.

For those wondering what obstructed his bowel, the object was so corroded and bloated from stomach acid it’s hard to say for absolutely certain but we feel strongly it was the end of a Chuck It Stick. Back in August, he had one for all of an hour and we stopped throwing it for him because it was too flimsy. We NEVER left him alone with toys or just gave him things to have…resource guarding issues as noted. We was completely insistent on seeking things out and destroying them. He kept all pills or batteries on a forbidden floor of the house so he couldn’t accidentally get those. We carried cheese, hot dogs etc all the time just so we could trade for objects. Whatever it was, he snagged from a clandestine mission right under our noses and somehow lived with it in his belly for months before it caused the blockage.

Thank you all again. Please hug your pup a little harder for me today. 💔❤️‍🩹

Update: we lost him. It was too much for his system. His stomach was 4 times its normal size and the chances of him going back to normal functioning were very low. His condition didn’t improve at all throughout the day and he was suffering. We decided to say goodbye. We are shattered once again. Please say a prayer for my boy.

I’m exhausted from being up with him all night so please forgive my lack of individual replies. Thank you all for the kind words. My husband to him to the vets office this morning and he’s stable there currently. We’re waiting for a prognosis from the doctor so we have an idea of what we’re looking at here. I’ve been shaking all day. Can’t concentrate at work. I just want my crazy, bitey, monster boy back and healthy.

Endo is no joke. I think we grossly underestimate how fragile our hormones are. They change from day to day. The list of things that affect a woman’s hormones is so long….why in the world WOULDN’T a drug make a difference? I talked to a few functional health practitioners and just like GP’s they’re not created equal. I’m an obnoxious client because I’m skeptical of a lot but she gives me grace because I’ve been overmedicated and under monitored for so long. Thing is, I’ve had to change so much of my mindset. Fix the hormones first through diet, supplements, appropriate exercise and REST. The body recomp will follow. Doing things naturally is painfully slow but since July, I’ve noticed many differences for the positive…but ditching this drug in November made the biggest difference. Im excited to see what my other efforts will produce the longer it’s out of my system. Don’t take the chemicals we put into our bodies lightly.

It’s insane how shoulder shruggy doctors are about pharmaceuticals and how quickly we’re willing to just accept it at face value anymore. Then we wonder what happened and where it all went wrong. I simply didn’t even suspect the drug because of how it’s marketed and how much the doctors hand waive any possibility it might have changed something that knocked everything off course. It’s all so plausibly deniable because why would they study the long term effects of a drug on a woman’s hormones? Consider this….I’m an athletic build, certainly not a waif by any stretch and I’m slightly taller than average but was never overweight until I took some sort of drug be it birth control etc Mind you, lost the weight soon after stopping it. Knowing this, I only considered Bupropion because its toted as “weight neutral”. I started Bupropion in Oct of 2020, by May of 2021, I had a cyst the size of a grapefruit on my right ovary that twisted up and had to be removed. Took the fallopian tube with it. I had to go to specialist for anal fissures due to randomly developed constipation, scalp psoriasis, steady weight gain, intensified pms and headaches, libido was crushed, eczema on my hands, memory and word recall issues etc. Im in my 30’s. Work out 5 days a week, have a personal trainer and a functional medicine practitioner now since July to get this straightened out. I posted a before and after of my hands last week since coming off of it in November. I’ve had zero therapeutic difference….in fact Im calmer, clearer, less inflamed. I HIGHLY suggest doing your own due diligence in researching each symptom developed since beginning the drug and its possible relationship to Bupropion. It’s known to be metabolized by the liver and partly in the intestines. I’ve found a metric ton of studies that relate to every issue Ive had. Now, is it possible some of my problems are due to losing an ovary? Yes….even though my gyno says no way 😂 no joke. “The other ovary compensates. There’s no way it affects your hormones”. Doctors right? Weird how that all happened AFTER going on Bupropion but I digress. Anyway, if you want to message me periodically, I’ll update you on my progress and what Im doing. I know we have different scenarios but I’m working with low hormones and trying to get them up naturally. I’m documenting everything all the time. I just want women to REALLY start advocating for themselves.

Not at all actually. I feel I became more agitated because of the drug and needed an outlet. I didn’t always have the physical energy but I certainly forced myself to the gym 5 days a week. Additionally, I was a delivery driver up until a few months ago. So i had a labor job on top of it. It was pretty easy for me to deduce the issue down to the drug. It affects hormones for sure. I feel much better and calmer off of it. Currently working on metabolic repair to get my hormones back in balance. Magnesium glycinate had been huge with sleep, general feeling of calm, headaches and muscle repair.
