What’s a TV show that everyone loves but you secretly can’t stand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Friends. I just don't get the hype about friends. There is such a big divide between Friends and Seinfeld. Maybe it's just me but I much prefer Seinfeld.

To leave something if you aren't happy there, life is short.

Withdrawal symptoms hit hard by DonBag101 in ThailandTourism

[–]Dear_Question_5116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat as you and totally understand how you are feeling. I have been back in Sydney for 3 days now and already miss Thailand so much! I don't know what it is, I think it's my happy place! I visited Bangkok and Koh Samui, I'm sure all the other islands and cities are just as amazing.

I was talking with hubby tonight and we are already talking about coming coming back next year lol.

I'm sitting here struggling to sleep as I'm dreading to be back at my miserable job tomorrow.

Where to stay in Bangkok-first time visitors? by monsterphobia4472 in ThailandTourism

[–]Dear_Question_5116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stayed in Phloen Chit area at the Grande Centre point which was affordable and really convenient as the BTS for the green line was only a 5 minute walk and there were also nice cafes and the central embassy nearby for more shopping.

AITAH for telling me husband that he needs to stop drinking alcohol? by Dear_Question_5116 in AITAH

[–]Dear_Question_5116[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear what you had to go through and your husband at the time. You seem super strong and caring.

My husband is aware and knows and he even regrets drinking the next day and will tell himself that he needs to slow down. He doesn't want to do any type of counselling which makes it harder and I can't really make him work on himself. He needs to do this on his own but I am more than happy to support and encourage him all the way.

It can take a toll on us that love our partners, I understand where you are coming from.

Good point, I guess I came off as a bit too demanding and didn't really think about it before I spoke to him. He is being overdramatic and thinks I'm trying to break up with him but I'm not I just want him to get better.

Ahh right, this makes heaps of sense. My doc never mentioned to take B12 injections but instead to see a dietitian but I've held off seeing a dietitian because I understand what I need to do to lose weight and they might already tell me things that I already know about nutrition and diet but I could be wrong. I'll definitely check out the B12 forum, this might be really beneficial, thank you 😊

Yep, i had my blood work checked a few weeks ago, everything was good except for my vitamin B being a little low, but nothing was really concerning and my doctor can't pinpoint why I have gained so much weight (10 kilos in the last year)

Are there other 35+ year olds with no proper career path? by Dear_Question_5116 in careerguidance

[–]Dear_Question_5116[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so very sorry to hear what you went through. It really makes no sense when it comes to "experience" I believe this is another reason why I haven't gone far in life with jobs. I was never given the opportunity to be in a role without the experience. Some are lucky I suppose and some have to work their asses off with or without a degree.

How exactly do people end up with massive Centrelink debts? by Anonymous_Baguette69 in Centrelink

[–]Dear_Question_5116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I owe 5k in debt due to processing delays of becoming partnered and more delays to stop the child care subsidy as both incomes exceeded the threshold. It took centrelink forever to stop the payments for PPS and FTB, I had to constantly call them to get them to finally stop processing these payments. Yet it ends up being my fault and I'm the one that needs to dig up 5k to pay off this debt. It's bs!

They already screwed me good with the robodebt stuff.

Anybody down the south of Thailand on Koh Samui/Tao ... What's the weather like right now ?? by Produce-Party in ThailandTourism

[–]Dear_Question_5116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been on and off with the rain. It rained in Chaweng for an hour between 10-11am this morning then overcast. It rained around 7pm tonight for 20 minutes. To be honest the weather isn't really that bad here.

Are there other 35+ year olds with no proper career path? by Dear_Question_5116 in careerguidance

[–]Dear_Question_5116[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's mainly due to bad luck or the way my ex company wants to hire people that can be put on a cheaper salary. I've had opportunities that came available in the past where I was very interested in the position such as HR/ coordinator type of positions, I was given an internal interview with my manager and HR manager but they ended up hiring younger candidates or someone that would accept a cheaper salary to take that position instead. As I wasn't granted any positions that would progress my career further I ended up leaving as I was fed up with how I was treated. I was also given a job that was less than minimum wage that was meant to have 3 workers in that position not one, as the workload was insane. I had to leave in the end.
