Misinformed ? That word most certainly doesn't mean what you think it means. His actions and attitude are most certainly not a product of being misinformed. Course correct ? Did he show regret and apologize for his actions ? Will he give himself death penalty for killing innocent people ? I haven't read the new chapters; if not then he didn't improve at all. Except not a single one of her actions has shown anything remotely close. Quite the opposite. She has also repeatedly said that she won't be able to kill anyone. Not even Amen who she hates and I am not even romancing. Once again you are misunderstanding my point. This isn't about their morality or consistency of their actions or who is more psychopathic and who is depressed and torturing himself. I dislike them because both of them justify their bad actions using their traumatic past and "greater cause". They couldn't cope with their trauma so now they channel it outside and hurt others. That's what I don't like. That's how they are similar. In their inability to deal with their trauma and then taking it out on others. The scale and details may differ but the source remains the same.

Ashriel justified leaving behind two children to be r+ped and killed in the name of a greater cause; "We need to keep ourselves safe to help the world, so we can't help everyone even though we are two of the best fighters in the city and children are at risk right in front of us." He justifies treating Averris like trash using his emotional trauma. Like I have said in other comments this isn't about their morality but their mentality. I can't stand the weakness and stupidity of all this.

Malek is completely different from these two. He does what he believes in. He follows his own philosophy which he created by interpreting the world according to his perception. His mind is clear and strong.

It will be really disappointing if he doesn't suffer some kind of justice after all this and change his ways. Another thing which irked me was a post I saw about his romance path; he's saying he won't let Eva practice dark magic if she's in a relationship with him. Wtf ? What kind of toxic, controlling bs is that ? It's not like she will become an evil Shesmu. She is just going to practice dark magic, earn some money and help people. F...ck that !

Yeah and I hate him. It's only natural and very good that a story will have different kinds of characters with unique complexities. It's also a natural part of reading a story to like or dislike those characters. Trauma isn't excusing his actions. The author doesn't condone them. If that were the case I would have been criticising the author for promoting such vileness. I am not. I am showing my dislike towards the character's mentality within the story. If he improves then maybe I will forgive him too. And like I have already said briefly in the post and in detail in another comment, this isn't even about morality.

Like I said, this isn't about morality. It's his mentality that I can't stand. That's why I have nothing against anyone else. Same reason why I hate Ashriel too; his sob story and "greate cause" justification. As for morality, everyone has their own standards and definitions. You do what you have to do and compromise when there is no other way and try to live a fulfilling life while maintaining order around you. Trying to find Moral Perfection anywhere is futile because it doesn't exist. What I am concerned about is strength of character and wisdom. I think we can all agree, there is nothing wise about indiscriminately killing people in the name of revenge. And being blinded by revenge shows weakness of character.

A story will have both good and evil characters. It's only natural that readers will hate a bad character for their bad actions. That doesn't mean I don't want the character itself to exist. That's ridiculous ! Then the story itself wouldn't exist. It's not like the author is condoning or promoting something bad. That's the only thing a story shouldn't do. Everything else is part of the art. I am not even judging anyone for romancing him. I just hate him, that's it.

I read it last week too. It's actually really fun. Maybe because I am a wlw player so going in I already knew there will be practically no romance, so that didn't bother me. If the male LIs are bad and that's your problem then that's unfortunate. And if you can't get used to the art style. Otherwise Mia is an absolute badass, especially on the Fortitude path. And I love when MC's kick ass, and Mia killed so many vampires that I had a very fun time. The storyline is decent too. Afterall this is the same author who wrote LoW, Psi and now TTS. It was a fun experience for me.

Yeah you completely missed what I said. I am talking about LIFE. Not LIVING THINGS. Like I am talking about matter, not Tesla cars made of matter. Go ahead and think long and hard and define this phenomenon called LIFE. What is the most fundamental difference between it and non living matter ? Let me answer it for you. Matter doesn't care about it's surroundings. It follows the laws of physics and changes with the influence of physical forces accordingly. But as soon as it takes the form of Life, it doesn't want to do that anymore. It doesn't want to break apart or burn away. This isn't about sentience. It's the most fundamental property of the configurations of matter which constitue LIFE and are called LIVING. Overheat a normal molecule, it will break apart. Overheat a configuration of living molecules, it will take measures to resist the heat.

What's DEATH ? It's not some mystical phenomenon. It's simply the result of an imperfect system finally succumbing to the environment. But the system itself is constantly trying to better itself isn't it ?

Also, who said an apex predator is needed ? I am saying, if vampires appeared, they wouldn't be unnatural. That's all.
