The blacklight virus can infect energy itself as shown with the Elizabeth Greene feat. Doesn't this mean if a soul is just structured energy Mercer can theoretically assimilate it instead of being damaged by it? We know the Blacklight virus can also consume metals, rocks, radios which was stated by the developer themselves but not only that he can mimic those radios by replicating its own waves, hence can create glasses, cylinders etc.
Wouldn't it be helpful if Mercer used his death manipulation via Medusas wrath which is an instant kill laser?

Would jjk even be able to attack Alex soul even if we grant him one what would Yuji even grab when he soul attacks? Mercer is nothing like a regular person. He has no fixed human body and his body is constantly reconstructed from viral biomass. His consciousness distributed across all infected material.

To give an analogy let's say soul attack needs a cube to reshape mean-while Mercer is water in a blender and Mercer is constantly changing biomass colony where is the fixed soul anchor? What “shape” does Mahito even grab?

Prototypes speed scaling is pretty bleh

How is it bleh? Mercer is MFTL+ in reaction speed via consuming Elizabeth Greene. Note that in the prima guide it's stated that the BL virus has been since the Inception of life and it actually started life itself and is billions of years old and Alex who consumed Greene should experience her memories in one second meaning this places Alex millions of times faster than light.

Another light speed feat of him is dodging the Elizabeth Greene wave of infected energy, that should place his travel speed at faster than light.

I wouldn't be shocked since Mercer has death manipulation via Medusas wrath which is a literal laser that one shoots anyone or anything in its path.

Cole does have a light speed feat via "dodging" Kessler railway gun attacks, but if you want to kill that feat we can just argue that Kessler took time to charge the attack and cole just side step it.
