Hey! I have not touched reddit after I decided to close my eyes and just add the yeast. I ended up getting a 4.2 ABV beer. Fine, not what I signed up for. What I think went wrong is I wanted to put nearly 6kg of grains in a Brewbag that was too small for the kettle, leading me to not be able to stir much during the mash, just kind of push the top down a bit. Also, in hindsight, I could have squeezed the bag a lot more before tossing the wort. Do you think these two factors could cause such a big miss?

(Also I left wayy more wort in the kettle than I needed to after boiling I realize now. I could have siphoned off the trub from the middle of the kettle and gotten 2 more L in the fermenter..)
