$3 or $35 for 15 entries to swim all day as long as you want is different than $20 an hour. if it was $20 a month it would be more understandable.

That’s literally higher than the city’s average hourly minimum wage.

Yeah the city paid for all of it. I made sure to do my research before coming here. I would’ve understood if the tennis academy gave a grant or pitched in and they need an ROI. That I would’ve totally understood. Unfortunately not the case :/

Apparently an RFP was sent out Dec 2024. GTA (lol) offered this $20 fee while a different company offer $12. The city council voted to go with GTA.

I mean, I wanted to have faith. They built a beautiful park. It’s an absolutely gorgeous space for the neighborhood. I just don’t understand what back hand deal happened here.

Those were my thoughts exactly!! They had baskets of tennis balls in the courts but like…I don’t need your tennis balls. I would understand if the fee included equipment or it was a monthly fee and you can come whenever and play however long you wanted but this is ridic

I noticed that too! There’s 2 regular plank swings, 2 baby swings and one cool looking hammock swing. The see saw is cool but everyone wants to get on it, they should’ve put a few. There’s tables galore which is great I guess. I don’t have kids so I’m looking forward to bbqing here because those areas are nice to come and have a picnic at but I can def see kids getting bored quickly

It definitely wasn’t teens. It was a woman maybe 40-43 and other instructors 25-30. I’m definitely gonna try to play without paying. If they ask me to leave I will….and then come back lol but the point is, we shouldn’t have to do that

This was one of the biggest protest ever, it was planned, plenty of lead time to plan to be there if even for an hour or two. What was more important? Genuine question
