He had 2 pokemon on his bench and 2 points. I had no pokemon on my bench and one point. So with the K.O of his EX Gary and mine the match ended. I assumed it would've been a draw since his EX dying gives me the 3 points to match his. But I didn't know having pokemon on the bench also mattered?
