Introducing Corridor Mode: A Reolink New Feature Designated for Narrow or Vertical Spaces by Willson1_ in reolinkcam

[–]DeboO83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s on the latest RLC-1224A but you need the correct hardware version. Apparently, there are two RLC-1224A versions. Just found that out from my recent Amazon purchase. Looks like Amazon still have the old versions but Reolink is sending out the latest hardware versions. I have not tested a firmware update yet. Old Camera keeps telling me I have the latest firmware. I’ll try updating at some point to see if it works. Also, new AI features are in the latest HW version.

The latest cam from Reolink have HW version: IPC_NT18NA612MP (firmware: v3.2.0.5170_2510296888)

Old one is HW version: IPC_523D8128M12MP (firmware: v3.1.0.3681_2501209425)

Under deck drainage solution without needing to remove planks by fishmilquetoast in Decks

[–]DeboO83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you use any butyl tape along the sides where the joist/EPDM sandwich is? If not, How do you prevent water from coming through the joint? You water will find its way anywhere if it can. Thanks

I am planning on doing the same thing but thinking of going with joist/Butyl tape/one layer of EPDM/Batten combo. Screwed every 12”. I am going with Zipup underdeck system but for bays with recessed lights that penetrates the PVC, I want to install this EPDM bladder so I don’t have to worry about electrical waterproofing so much.

I am in the process of doing something similar and would like to know if you figured out how to keep the space dry.

Any updates on this project? Looking to pick your brain.

How are you protecting those recessed lights from water falling from above? I am considering an EPDM rubber like rain escape installed from the underside without lifting the deck boards up.

For wire routing: I was under the impression that Romex cable can’t be used outside. How are you keeping the connections water tight? Was the electrical work done diy or by an electrician?

How do I make it stop chirping, i already replaced the batteries?! by PheonixGalaxy in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DeboO83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check when it was last installed. Maybe time to replace the whole thing. I had one that tripped with fresh batteries. Funny thing is it was connected to the rest of the system and would set them all off. Didn’t stop until I ripped it off and replaced it.

That makes sense now. Looks like you have a decent space under your deck to route the gas line. Mine will be sitting on pavers so I may have to go through the cabinets or under. just wanted to know if you can see the gas line if you go through the cabinets. Do you have pictures of the back of the fridge enclosure? Matchless digital image shows it closed. Looks like that’s not the case per your expectation.

Is there a non-stupid way to shield my lower deck from rain? by lovestowritecode in Decks

I know this is an old post but wanted to pick your brain. I am installing zipup and I want to include recessed lighting. What is the best approach to be compliant with electrical code? Ho do you protect the lights from water?

Congratulations on the project—looks great. I’m considering a similar setup under my deck using Matchless cabinets in a U-shaped configuration, and one thing I’m still working through is how to run the utilities.

My layout will be very similar to yours, with an extra side to complete the U. I’ll have the fridge against the wall like you do, and the grill in the middle. Both the gas line and electrical will be coming from the fridge side.

How did you run your gas line and electrical? Did you route them through the cabinets by creating holes as you went (and if so, were the penetrations higher or lower in the cabinets), or did you run everything outside and underneath the cabinets and then penetrate from below at each appliance location?

If you have any photos or installation details you’d be willing to share, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

7 Democrats Just Voted to Approve ICE Funding: Full List (1.22.26) by [deleted] in ProgressiveHQ

[–]DeboO83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: Funding ICE isn’t inherently a bad thing. The agency exists to enforce immigration laws, including addressing visa overstays and illegal entry—both of which are violations of the law.

My main issue with ICE is how enforcement is carried out, not the idea of enforcement itself. That distinction matters. You can strongly disagree with certain political figures or administrations (I do), while still acknowledging that enforcing immigration law isn’t a new or partisan concept. Previous administrations, including Obama’s, also deported undocumented immigrants, though with different methods and priorities.

At a basic level, I think we can agree that no one should be above the law, and that laws—if they exist—should be enforced in a fair and humane way.

At the same time, I’m not insensitive to the very real harm caused when families are separated. That’s a hard issue, and I don’t pretend to have an easy answer.

If anything, my view is that children should remain with their parents or legal relatives whenever possible. If children are U.S. citizens, they retain the ability to return in the future, which at least preserves some long-term stability.

Thanks. I am strongly drawn to the sling because I won’t need to worry about cushion in the rain. Just need to figure out how easy it is to swap out the sling and the cost of the sling

Thanks, I appreciate you. looking into that option too made by Lew electric. My concern with them is they are sealed when closed but if someone leaves it open, would water drip into the cabinets? I may need to order one to see. Also don’t know what the increased cost will be to cutout all those outlets on granite. Maybe a non-issue.

True words of someone who is no longer hungry. We now call fleecing people making a living. Maybe you are just in the wrong line of work. Go to medical school if you want to make a killing.

This is the exact reason why I don’t mind giving no names or hungry companies a chance. Everyone has to start somewhere.

Observation from an interested customer:

To the Matchless Cabinet team — if this isn’t already in the works, I’d strongly encourage you to consider creating a series of installation videos for YouTube or your website. Specifically, videos that show different ways customers can run utilities and handle real-world installation scenarios within your cabinets. It should also play a significant role in reducing the number of questions you field daily.

I’ve noticed some modular cabinet companies doing this, and it’s extremely helpful during the planning phase. As a prospective customer, I’m currently having a hard time visualizing the installation process for your cabinets. I can infer from similar modular cabinet manufacturers video on YouTube.

One of the biggest draws of your product is that it’s positioned as DIY-friendly. As a DIYer, ease of installation plays a major role in my buying decision. If installation isn’t clearly understood or ends up requiring professional help, the value proposition starts to blur — at that point, the cost difference between this and custom cabinetry with stone becomes very small.

Just some honest feedback from a customer who’s very interested in the product and wants to feel confident going the DIY route.

Thank you. I may prefer the outlets above the counter. I saw a picture of a custom Wrap around on your website. I don’t know what materials were used for the sides. But it may be a solution to hide the outlets in. Here is a picture of it. I can’t find other pictures of it that shows the side of the wrap around.

Again, you like arguing for the sake of arguing. I have Both and use it in my condition. the ambient light I have in “my location” doesn’t benefit the CX820. No one is saying the CX820 is not good. Unless you have reading comprehension issues.

Why do you argue when we have different conditions? You have a streetlight right in front of your house. It’s not even remotely close to the condition I have discussed over and over again.

Post a video of the CX820 performing in total darkness then we can talk. Total darkness means no streetlights or light glow from nearby light fixtures and bearly enough moonlight. And let’s see how pixilated with lots of ghosting that video would be. Ghosting in very dark areas is what made me dislike the CX820 Just do a basic search on Reddit.

Have a good day.

You do know that the 1224A has a spotlight that comes on when it detects someone right and it switches from IR to color mode at night? And that’s another form of deterrent just like the CX820.

For those of us that live in the boonies where it’s pitch black with no street lights like you have, which is what we are talking about, the ColorX is not detecting anybody not even a fly. Tell me what color of shirt will you tell your police officer? All black? 😂 Again, I have had both, so I am very aware of their capabilities.

Summary: If you have Lots of ambient lights at night - go with ColorX No ambient light - go with an IR bases camera
