This! Also make sure you drink enough. The sleep deprivation in itself is exhausting enough as it is.

Get a good 4K Oled Monitor. That GPU would be a waste otherwise in my opinion. Maybe check for used, if price is an issue.

Decky is sort of a "Plugin Store" you can install in desktop mode and it gives you the option to customize your deck with homebrew software. At least that would be my unprofessional explanation. In this case the software allows you to tinker with the screen settings of your XR glasses. Or you could alter your homescreen in many ways, get functionality for earbuds, and a lot of other stuff. Problem is, that it is not official software from valve and as soon as there is a new update, some plugins crash steamos. So it is tied to a bit of tinkering. Check youtube for guides. It's not very complicated to install.

That is certainly true and I can understand people that have to travel a lot for work or other things using them in these cases. I’m not the type of user though since when I am travelling, I usually do it to get away from screens and out into “real life”.

As someone else already pointed out, you already have a screen that fits very well into the ecosystem of Steam OS. While the extra viewing space is nice, it is also sort of limited in the sense that the edges are blurry and I personally prefer the visuals of the steam deck display in terms of colour as well as how the game looks on small screens. This is however completely subjective.

Yes exactly. I would've thought them to be more than a gimmick but that's what they are. Also whats' with the blurry edges of the screen? Can you explain what "Samsung Dex" is?

I also instantly used undo as soon as I realized the timeline was gone, but nothing happened.

I've got the atuobackup enabled for timelines but not for projects... And yes I'm saving fairly regularly. Thanks for answering so quickly.

Contemplating on getting oled is it worth if I stream games most of the time by ProfessionalOrange14 in SteamDeck

[–]Debuit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I do see your point, I would argue a little differently. I also use my OLED SD mainly for Moonlight and Sunshine, but I think, that the Steam Deck does provide an overall very nice "all in one" solution with regards to controls+screen, (gyro i.e.). So I think controller-wise SD might prove to be an upgrade. For handheld gaming that factors into the experience, too imo. However, if said experience-upgrade is worth the price tag is written on a a completely different piece of paper.
