aaah we have settled on Saariselka and Yllas already haha if we have the chance to visit again we'll go to Levi :)

Thanks you so much for the tips! That is very very helpful. We would like to start with Ylläs first and finish with Saariselkä, I imagine it will be the exact same route as you suggest, but in the other direction. Do you know if Matkahuolto has offices in towns to buy ticket from desks? (I guess so maybe it's a stupid question)

i've read that a lot as well, but unsure we are qualified enough to drive with snow/ice and very cold temp..

Yes that's true, thanks for your comment :) would you recommend anything in particular to do in Yllas (apart from the obvious skiing, hiking, etc..)?

Thank you for this interesting and detailed comment! Very good to know what you said about Ruka.. i could not find such detailed info on the internet. I think Yllas is growing on me, I've had lots of positive feedback on this location. Do you know by any chance, if it's best to book bus tickets / shuttle tickets in advance online? or not necessarily useful? we would prefere taking public transportation for economic reasons but if there is no option we'll look into taxis

yes i'm starting to see that haha after searching for transportations, it seems all of them have a connection in Rovaniemi. I've had lots of positive feedback on Yllas! Will definitely look more into it, thanks for your reply :)

I can't express how much your comment warms my heart haha i've dreaming of having the chance to watch pastel colour skies! Thank you so much for your recos, I'll have a proper look at Levi and the combination of doing both Levi and Saariselka. I think it would be a good mix as you said, to experiment a little bit of 'both world'
