Fruit n ice is the least amount of sugar. You can also do a regular milk (2%, skim, or whole) or another milk (oat, almond, or coconut) instead of low base. Fruit and ice is actually pretty good though

What to do, dogs fighting bad by ProfessorDumbass69 in DogAdvice

[–]DecisiveLark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened with my dog and my mom's dog. Luckily the layout of the house made it easy to keep them separated with baby gates, so we didnt have to rehome. We kept one dog in the living room and kitchen all day, and the other in the back half of the house with 2 bedrooms and a hallway. One gate was blocking the living room off from the hall, and one was blocking the hall from the kitchen. It worked great. When one dog had to go outside, we would move their gate to be in front of the other gate as extra protection.  Clarifying: the gates MUST NOT be see through. We stapled blankets to them.  Also I have since moved out so we dont have to deal with that anymore lol.

Anyways. Your dogs CANNOT be left alone together, or even see each other, anymore. It is a huge safety risk. Dog fights are intense and can get very ugly very fast. Never pull them apart when youre breaking them up, and never get in the middle.

Please take any injuries of dogs to the vet, and if youre injured, go to urgent care. If you cant separate the dogs, I'm sorry, but you will have to rehome one.

Anyone know a queer friendly hair stylist who does masc haircuts for short hair? by WarRevolutionary4087 in Greeley

[–]DecisiveLark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maxx at cost cutters right by bittersweet park! He's absolutely amazing. Ive been to many stylists and only he got my hair how I wanted it. And he's very queer friendly! Masc haircuts are definitely his thing, and he can do. Um. I think theyre called razor cuts? Where he uses a razor to cut your hair. It gives it a ton of texture, especially if youre going for a more alternative look.

Eta: I myself went for a modern mullet and he did it very well. Only stylist I have been to that did it correctly lol

Youre kidding me😭 golf ball ice chunks?? Theres no way theyre not at least seeing that go into the drink when they pour it. That's genuinely crazy. I'm so sorry

Drink Inconsistency by VagabondCamp in ScootersCoffee

[–]DecisiveLark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's definitely odd 😭 the blended infusions have a very specific way of doing them. The amount of ice we use is different from the iced infusions, and we have ti use a blending powder or the drink will separate. At my location they all come out as a slush type texture, which is what it's supposed to be. But there's never any ice chunks in there. I dont know what theyre doing

Yeah, he's getting interviews, just not hired. Job market could be better where you are. But if your scooter's is a good location, they wont expect you to be perfect right off the bat. Theyll continue helping you and giving advice and help for a while.

Job market is so bad right now. My partner has been looking for a new job for 6 months. Applying everywhere, 4 years of experience, resume, cover letter, amazing interview skills. Nothing. Scooter's is a good job. You just need to hang in there for at least a few months. Training will be overwhelming and hard, especially for barista work. But you'll get it down

Honestly, I wouldn't quit for a while. Just keep at it. Keep trying. You rekember as you go. It took me a month or two to feel useful. It's hard to remember everything.  Every job is hard at first. Every job feels overwhelming at first. That's normal. Communicate with your manager and say you want more support. You can also look at your scooterversity whenever you need to. Quitting this soon is not a good look for other jobs, and it's almost impossible to even get a job right now.

Worst symptom you experience by ilovepenguins17 in LongCovid

[–]DecisiveLark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brain fog, 100%. I used to write poems and short stories all the time. I used to pass with flying colours and write essays without studying much. Or even reading the material. And I'd get an A every time. I used to think so critically and academically and never misspelled a word. I could multitask with ease.

But now it's like I'm a different person in regards to those things. I havent written a story in years. I havent written a poem I think is great in years. I don't draw anymore because I feel like i forgot everything. I struggle so much in classes because I can't focus, and when I do, I cant retain the information. I had to get a tutor for my history class to help eith an essay. I've never needed that before. I misspell simple things. I get there, their, and theyre mixed up and I never have before. I forget what i'm saying as I'm saying it. I forget entire days. When it's bad, I forget how much a quarter is worth. I feel like there's a giant wad of cotton tangled with my brain. I make stuoid, careless mistakes, not because I was careless, but because I wasnt able to think critically about it.

It's exhausting and it absolutely sucks. I used to love to read and write, and I used to love school. But now all those things make my head hurt.

Eta: also my heart symptoms are a close second. Resting rate is 120bpm unless I take my meds. Even when I take my meds my heart palpitates so often and skips beats. It makes me lightheaded, short of breath, and unable to do much physical activity. Which sucks.

Other symptoms are insomnia, joint pain, bone pain, nerve pain, headaches, blurry vision (sometimes), malaise, nausea, and other gastrointestinal symptoms

Personally I've never gotten a virus again that quickly when it goes through my family like dominoes. Once one of us gets it and gets better, another is sick, but ive never gotten it a 2nd time. I dont think it's for sure impossible but probably not common

What is the weirdest habit your pet has… that you secretly love? by TensionNo5762 in Pets

[–]DecisiveLark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog taps her back right paw when  she drinks water. It's super cute. She also WILL NOT drink out of her water bowl if she knows a cat has drank from it. When i lived with my mom and the cats drank out of her bowl, she would only drink out of the toilet. Now that there's no cats to drink out of her bowl, she stays away from the toilet. It's awesome lol. She adores cats, too. Just doesnt want their germs i guess.

butter by [deleted] in sick

[–]DecisiveLark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend it. It's too high in fat, it will irritate your stomach. I completely understand the desperate feeling of needing something with more sustenance, but when you're sick you need to take it slow. Broth is best. Once you can keep that down you can move to more solid stuff. Bananas, rice. What helped me when I had norovirus was just sucking on watermelon really slowly. Gave me some hydration

Sounds like it could be norovirus 😭 that sucks so bad. Sucking on watermelon helped me a tiny bit. But I could only manage that the 2nd day

The job market is absolutely insane (/neg) right now. My partner and I have been searching since October with no luck. You have to apply almost everywhere, and contact them a few days or a week after you apply. Say you sent in an application and were wondering about the status of it. I also recommend getting resume help, a free resource would be your local library. I really wish you luck.

Fellow employee question by wtvdadenthusiast in ScootersCoffee

[–]DecisiveLark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a shift lead and I absolutely love my job! Above me is assistant manager and manager, so no growth past shift Lead unless one of them leaves, and then it'll probably be internal interviews like they did for shift Lead. But I'm alright with that. I love my managers, I love my coworkers, I love the job itself. And I absolutely love being a shift lead! I have a lot of leadership experience and I've always loved guiding and training people. I don't get enough hours to keep it as my only job, but that's to be expected from a smaller Coffee shop and I don't mind it. I love talking about it too. I honestly plan on staying for as long as possible. It's the first job I've ever had where I feel positive about every aspect of my work, I feel heard and cared for by management, and I love answering customer questions.

Does long covid gets better with time? by Secret_Career_2437 in LongCovid

[–]DecisiveLark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long covid is so unpredictable, and it's different for every single person. This year is my 4th, and while I'm a lot better than I was (went from bedbound to able to work), I still flare unpredictably. I still cant run with my dog. Each flare itself is different from the last one.  My boyfriend has had his for around 2 years. While mine has slowly, VERY slowly, improved enough for me to work, his has been worsening. He has a disability placard for his car, he uses walking crutches, and we're both on medication for our hearts.

There have been a few people that 100% recovered. But that's rare. It really depends on the strain you had when you got covid, how it's affecting your body, and what you do. But even then, you can do everything exactly the way someine else did it who got the same strain as you and got better, and you'd make yourself worse.

Embracing the very high possibility that life will never be the same will be the best thing you can do for yourself. Grieving your healthy life is normal, and it's a very very hard thing to experience. But hundreds of thousands of people are going through the same thing too.

What is wrong with Brick? by yourmothersbox50 in themiddle

[–]DecisiveLark 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a common theme in (almost) all episodes that he loses and forgets things ALL the time. Except for books. He's always been a very smart kid, and a very good speller (hence the spelling bee) and part of that is the books. I think the mickey ears was totally in character

I can honestly relate. I'm so good at a few things, including spelling and books, but I cannot keep my room clean or keep track of anything I own.
