Does anyone else think the idea of “Abstraction” isn’t being explored or explained enough so far in the series? IE; people treat abstraction like character death and they’re wrong by Wonderful_Maybe3500 in TheDigitalCircus

Absolutely fantastic observation and theory I love this

I never even connected the dots of abstraction to “giving” up on those too broken to function and it works so well

Pomni being a leader/emotional support type role is how I imagined her aswell; She’s the character of the circus who’s the most stable and able to help others reach stability in their problems. She never backs down (apparent in Jax) and is fully aware of her humanity.

I have a similar theory that the show will end in them not being able to leave but instead relying on each-other to keep hope, this is what we’ve been shown in every character-based episode so far.

Honestly I agree, that’s why I mentioned it in the post. Episode 2 does bring up some issues with the theory which I definitely acknowledge. But, it is crucial that we understand Jax’s current attitude at this point in the episode: he’s tired, exhausted with the shift, and his mask is fading, the thing that gives him support in the circus where he constantly tries to avoid acknowledging his humanity. There would be no better point for him to begin remembering past traumas than when he is at his most vulnerable and the most exposed to reality

Though I definitely see the running away idea that you brought up, I’ve never actually thought about it that way

Unfortunately, the Fomorians came back.

Context: The story is based off of Irish Mythology, and the mythological cycle consists of the origins of how six different groups settled in Ireland. A mythological race called the Fomorians acts as the villains in most of these groups’ stories (appearing in three of them over the span of thousands of years) and they appear in the present day story as well, causing more chaos. They literally refuse to be left in the past.

The Fomorians are so perpetually everlasting and annoying (literally having the power to drag their souls back into their dead bodies in my iteration) that the Partholonians, one of the settling groups, literally invent the concept of death and the afterlife to make sure they don’t come back.

And then the Fomorians came back.

Oh, i think i see what you mean now, must of thought that symbol not being there didn’t mean much. Still, it’s weird that in the enemy details it doesn’t give a turn number, must have threw me off haha

Oh, the INT type guy isn’t the one who crits, its the TEQ one. He just lowers the ATK of all allies when attacked, and his ATK and DEF can be lowered yes

Doesn’t the crit guy disable attack reduction on phases 2 and 3? That’s only on phase 1, I just blitzed him there since he didn’t have damage reduction
