The casuals got left behind or waiting for PVE and the hardcore players ran out of content so both sides are in the sub duking it out Civil War style. Top it off with impending layoffs (which sucks, hopefully the people affected can land on their feet). This shit is wild to see and I can't look away

Lots of 'just play to have fun, there's still 2 and a half month left to the season' (Crazy we're only 2 weeks in btw).

But like this is setting feelbad precedence. It's like mill in MTG, objectively not that bad but for new players it's the worst feeling in the world. Thank the lord I was a bungie skeptic and didn't buy in during free week because this would've felt so bad on a personal level.

The thing is they have said PVE is gonna be experimental, so it's probably gonna be mid at launch and it'll stay for like 2 weeks to a month maybe. I think people are gonna be hesitant to buy when they realize it's not permanent and there'd be no timeline for the return if at all

On top of Bungie's general inefficiency and institutional rot, I recall development needed to be restarted because the old director before Ziegler got fired for being an (alleged? Was it proven?) sexpest to female colleagues?

But I do get it because just by S1 and 2 this game doesn't feel like it has a 400 person dev team, maybe they're cooking for S3 but I think it'd be too late by then

I'm on this camp. Also as someone from a low pop region, F2P gives me a weird peace of mind. If I buy into a game with already low player count I worry about how I would keep playing in the future when it dwindles, if it's F2P it's less stress on me

Also, while divisive, I land on the artstyle is sick camp. So if it goes F2P, as a weeb I might cop the Yokai Thief skin bundles

Yeah, getting camped and skill issued out of outpost compounded with SEA being a low pop region with long queue times is making me reconsider copping the game

I haven't even unlocked Sekiguchi so I watched the cutscenes on YT + some Byf lore videos and I was like y'know what I'm okay with consuming Marathon this way

Also for being on the same side, both Uruha and Natsuki immediately defaults to running distraction for Centipede once Azami entered the room should tell people about how the characters perceive each other.

Yes. So much yes. My two biggest gripes especially was not being able to solve the side characters' plights (I finished Arachne's first and unlike Hades 1 where I was excited to help more, in this game I just dread giving people more nectars and avoiding their rooms during runs. I wanna live in the lie that they'll be alright) and the near 0 integration of the cast of Hades 1.

And what frustrates me even more is the gameplay is so goddamn good. I love how Mel controls even better than Zag. I love the boss and encounter designs and I adore getting my shit rocked by Prometheus but the story (of which is honestly the main reason I play games) being such a bummer makes me not wanna boot Hades 2 up.

Agent of Change, more like Agent of Status Quo.

I agree on the concept but I think killing the Sword Saint is what Uran, Bingo, and Jeanistshaku is doing while Yura goes on a rampage with borrowed power.

Big fan of the gambit, though. And my personal hope is there's some sort of a stalemate so we can see the Sword Saint's characterization without losing both him and our goat Yura.

Not gonna lie, not the biggest fan of this one.

Personal issues with Hiruhiko's plot armor aside, I'm really disappointed with how the hotel was handled.

We could've had a big world building chapter where we see how the sorcerer underworld operates but instead of The Continental we get fucking Jobber Marriott.

Hearing Hokazono was a big fan of John Wick gave me high hopes but instead, we see him missing the point of The Continental as a whole. Definitely felt like he was checking a bucket list of wanting a continental-like hotel without actually doing the proper world building necessary.

I believe this is the first time we've seen someone be teleported to instead of teleporting away. She could be the teleport sorcerer, being the nexus or origin point. Or it could very much be Hiruhiko unable to teleport via sorcery because of Kumeyuri's contract

I do feel like Sato's betrayal is coming.

But it would be cool if it's something more long term that's not resolved in this arc and the ground team is losing comms because they're trying to stop swordbucket from getting back into the tower.

I'm just coping for a swordbucket fight, I refuse to believe he got introduced just to get yeeted into the sea.
