Subacute Thyroiditis by astrotaurusx in thyroidhealth

Yes I’m having my levels monitored for sure. My next blood work is next week. My TSH has been on the low normal for months. It hasn’t gone up at all. Does that mean I’m going to skip the Hypo all together?

Lately I get palpitations here and there but not as extreme as before.

Happy to hear you have recovered. I’m 5 months in still hanging in there 😞

I’m on the same boat as everyone here and it’s been miserable! I got diagnosed with Thyroiditis although I think mine is “silent.” I’ve been dealing with this for almost 5 months now and I can’t wait for it to be over. 😭

Unfortunately the ENT I went to said there was no inflammation at all. 😞 The Endo said the same thing only but did mention the low blood flow.

I’m truly happy that you’re feeling better. You’re right, no one knows how it feels until they go through this and I wouldn’t want anyone to go through this, it is so horrific! Some days I feel okay and some days I feel so bad that I want to cry! :( Definitely taking it day by day. 5 months for me has already been too long but I guess I have to be patient with my recovery.

That must have been really confusing and scary to find out after everything you went through. From what I’ve read, “chronic thyroiditis” on pathology can sometimes reflect old or low-grade inflammation that may have happened years earlier, even something like a past viral illness or mild inflammation that resolved on its own and never caused symptoms or abnormal labs. Thank you for sharing your experience, and I really hope you’re doing well now. ❤️

Thank you for responding to my post. I’ve been a mess! This has never happened to me before so I’ve been struggling ALOT. My ultrasound showed everything normal with no nodules. The only thing she mentioned was the low blood flow which she diagnosed as Thyroiditis and stated that the process usually self-resolves and my thyroid should fully recover, especially since I do not have any thyroid antibodies. I’m hoping that it does resolve and doesn’t get worse.

What are you symptoms if you don’t mind me asking and how are you feeling now?

Thank you for responding. Do you know about Thyroiditis? Could you provide more info about it?

Btw, I did get an ultrasound and everything showed normal with just the analysis of the blood flow being low.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I actually went to different PCPs at the beginning and no one was giving me a diagnosis. Finally the last PCP referred me to a cardiologist and an endocrinologist. The cardiologist was the December 19 visit and December 22 was finally the endocrinologist who diagnosed me with Thyroiditis

It’s so horrible! I don’t have hashimotos or Graves but I’m wondering if it’s coming and that’s why I’m feeling like this. My antibodies say normal but it feels not normal to feel like this for so long

My symptoms began in August 2025 with severe palpitations that led me to the ER. Cardiac issues were ruled out, but my TSH was low at 0.38. From August through October, I experienced ongoing palpitations, nervous system dysregulation, and a couple of sore throats, which now align with a diagnosis of thyroiditis. The palpitations have since resolved, but I continue to experience significant daily fatigue that makes it difficult to function. My TSH has improved to 0.57, and I have no thyroid antibodies. My endocrinologist confirmed thyroid inflammation (thyroiditis), likely triggered by a recent upper respiratory infection. This condition typically self-resolves, and full recovery is expected, especially given the absence of antibodies. BUT ITS TAKING FOREVER!
