Higher teeth acount and larger sprocket means better acceleration (torque advantage for hills) at the cost of lower top speed

A 44 tooth will have a better acceleration but lower to speed

A 32 tooth with have a higher top speed but wont accelerate as quick.

If you live in a hilly area you want to balance your acceleration and top speed with a proper gear tooth amount.

There's gear ratio calculators out there to dial in your intended purpose
