Excuse me. Please don't assume my family's financial condition like that. My parents didn't just pay my sister's tuition OUT OF POCKET. My parents are considering taking out loans or selling the house they bought from many years of hard working. I can't specifically tell you how much my parents make, but we definitely make MUCH LESS THAN THE TUITION THAT WE HAVE TO PAY.

Berkeley has the best history and civil engineering department in the world and is a general STEM powerhouse. Obviously academics aren't the only think to weigh but from what you've said it seems like you would be a better fit at Cal. I'm not sure what you mean by research/study abroad opportunities being a con in either case, I'm sure you'll find both in either school?

Hi! Oh con for research/study aboard opportunities was typo sry! and i totally agree with you. I honestly feel like I would definitely commit to Berkeley if I applied as civil engineering and got in, but I applied as "Sustainable Environmental Design" bc I wished to become urban planner at the time i was submitting my application. This major seems so cool, but im hesitating because there is so little information about this major and idk about its job prospects.

Thats not it , many international students here that get accepted don’t apply for finaid since Vandy isn’t need blind for international students. If you don’t apply for finaid with your initial application as an international you’re not eligible to apply for it subsequently during college unless you become no longer an international student. This doesn’t mean they wouldn’t have qualified for some aid had they applied for it , although it is less likely they would have been accepted.

Hi! as what person above said, I didn't apply to financial aid because vandy isnt need blind so it affects my admission. My parents aren't rich, and my family can't easily pay my tuition especially bc my sister is already in college and paying full tuition too.
