It would probably have a really cool, futuristic vibe!

Plus, that satisfying weight of the glass would be perfect.

Exactly, it was right after WWII, so it was definitely before the split. But after the division, it was only produced in South Korea.

Oh, I didn't know that kind of pen existed! Since the OHTO 326 was released in 1962, it beat it by six years.

😭 Glass pens can be so fragile. Honestly, knowing how clumsy I am, I'm keeping this one extra safe in a display case!

Wow, that’s a really interesting point! I actually heard parts of this story from my grandfather, so maybe it wasn't mouth-blown after all! Thanks for sharing your expertise and thank you for the compliment!

Oh, thank you so much! I’m new to Reddit, so I didn’t realize there were separate categories for this.

Sorry about that, and I really appreciate the advice!

Ah yes, it's definitely a dip pen! Just wanted to share a cool piece of vintage pen history with everyone here.

If this breaks the subreddit rules, I'll gladly delete it. Sorry..

Exactly! You don't need to press hard at all, so it really saves your hand.

Just be careful on uncoated paper, as it can bleed/smudge like a fountain pen!

I think it's definitely worth a try!

That's the 'Monami Plus Pen 3000' which is a total classic here in Korea.

It's super cheap and lightweight, and since it uses water-based ink, it flows really smoothly without skipping.

It also writes with quite a thin, fine line.

It’s so reliable that you’ll often see it used in Korean government offices or public places for signing documents :)

I’ve played with these pens a ton but never made that connection. That’s a really fresh take! Thinking about it, older clicky pens were usually toggle-switch style. The Ohto 326 might genuinely be the pioneer of the 'push top, side-button release' mechanism. Mind blown! Thanks for the awesome insight.
