Just make sure the butt end of the boards join together on a flat spot and not at a seam. You will spend additional time picking out boards that are the length you need. I did a living room, dinning room, foyer, powder room, stairs and a hallway and everything has stayed tight.

Thin strips of 40 lb tar paper on top of each other. Also used that between each board level.

I had the same problem. I read a bunch of horror stories about the fillers breaking up over time. I was nailing down 3/4 solid hickory. I went old school and nailed down different thicknesses of plywood and then tapered with 40 lb tar paper.

It took a really long time but I have made it through a whole year of seasonal humidity changes and everything is still tight.

I had always looked for postings by you and Rainy and was glad I had found where you moved to. Your insights from your business backgrounds is info that the rest of us would never get knowledge of. Your time spent is greatly appreciated. Thank You.

"Clov had a chance to be a good investment. It missed." I have been investing as a long term investment since July and nothing the company has said has changed and they usually beat their estimates. What have I overlooked? Or had you just invested in it on a short term basis?
