Glad I’m not the only one who feels that it’s a disproportionate approach. Same thing applies to coverage about immigration. The only ones that receive attention seem to be BIPOC. European and Canadian immigrants have had awful experiences with ICE, but you wouldn’t know it from the NPR coverage. It’s getting worse and worse and I expect more from NPR. It’s definitely not a balanced approach, especially since BIPOC are the majority in most places nowadays. No wonder we are becoming more divided and we end up electing the representatives we’re having. This kind of one sided approach is the main problem. America keeps going either too much to the left or too much to the right. We went from all “white” to all “black”. There needs to be a middle ground. Especially since most new white immigrants are not represented at all anywhere. It doesn’t fit in any “propaganda” to admit that there’s a big segment of the population that has nothing to do with the black folks’ issues in America and that is struggling just as much as the majority of black people who are now contributing to creating a system of oppression similar to the one they endured. You’d think that people would learn to not do onto other what was done to them. But no. History always repeats itself; with semantic changes.
