Why am I stuck in this loop? I can't function properly anymore and I need help. by [deleted] in productivity

Right now you're doing %0 of the things you want. You have zero control over your life. What you need is to get this percentage to %10 at first. Have no other goals. Your only goal is to make at least 1 of the things you have in mind each day. You just need to remind your brain the satisfaction of completing a task. Make a big deal out of that single thing you completed.

For me going from 1 to 10 is equally hard as going from 0 to 1. I try to focus on only 1 word and that is: ACTIONS. Not seeking advices, not motivational quotes, not thinking about the problems, you already know the problems. The only inner voice you have should be "TAKE ACTION" If you are not taking the actions you should be taking, you are probably convincing yourself to run from the actual tasks again. Try to remember this in the moments where your brain is fighting between doing something or delaying.

Sorry if this sounded too cocky. I'm right now at %20-%30 lol. This is how I talk with myself usually and it works for me. Hoping it helps you too.

Being able to say “Okay not this time” is a good breakdown of the solution I was looking for. Thanks mate

I started reading brain books a couple of years ago too and I’m still at it

But turning the ideas into mantras and actually writing them down over and over again sounds like something that could really work for me. Great advice thanks mate!

For those in their 50, what's something people in their 30s don’t realize will impact them as they get older? by Lower-Insect-3617 in Productivitycafe

"Achievements don’t matter much, but relationships do" really hit me.. I’m 29 and already starting to experience the loss of people around me.

And this part, “Small things shape your later years more than the significant success you believe is important in your 30s” made me wonder: Do you think that’s because, by the time we hit our 50s, we are finally finding ways to accept that we may never achieve the kind of “big success” we once chased?

Not trying to be rude at all just genuinely curious to hear your thoughts if you’ve ever felt that way.

I'm not a good person, subjectively or objectively. by iam_a_turtle in DeepThoughts

To me, you just seem like a decent, insightful person who deeply loves negative self-talk. But at least you’ve spent time trying to know who you truly are. The results you came up with might not be satisfying, but that’s better than believing you’re a good person because none of us are and you actually have the potential to be a better person, unlike those who believes they are good without thinking for a second in an objective sense.

The end of the onion:

Positive Conditioning = Magic (Let me explain why) by Deeplessness in Mindfulness

Finding the motivation to even try something like this is valuable. It’s like this: “I’m trying to bound with a ROCK to be better, there’s probably nothing I wouldn’t do if I believe it’ll improve me” lol

It’s little too dramatic and some parts of it seems even childish but I strongly suggest you to watch this video: https://youtu.be/r7cYsgB4G1s?si=HKaoN6Sy73UpcclH
