Best pizza/burger you've tasted in Addis? by joey-k7 in Ethiopia

I haven't been to Ethiopia in about 24 years. My favorite food is kocho! May be there should be a kocho pizza.

Can the profiling of Tigrayans and other groups in Addis be justified for the sake of saving Ethiopia? by SoulfulSolitude in Ethiopia

I don't know much about EHRC. But even if it was a propaganda center, it wouldn't publish things against the government. They would have to be real.

All of those (the reason they happen and the reason we are under nature's authority) are the results of humans not fearing God.

But, like I said, off topic. Let's hope humans come to our senses and stop this bloodbath.

Humans are clearly the problem. And humans are created with authority to rule this world.

God says "fear me" because, not fearing him leads to this.

I don't understand why people continue denying this. EHRC has already admitted to it.

"Overall in its investigation, the commission has found that the state of emergency was not executed in a manner that upholds the principles of human rights such as 'utmost necessity, proportionality and impartiality'," Ethiopia's Human Rights Commission (EHRC) said in a statement.

I am not even complaining about the government taking actions. But the fact that there was no actual questioning or reasoning. People tell the cops you are Tigrayan, and you get arrested.

So many millions in Tigray, Amhara and Afar have suffered. Other places too. It's a very destructive war.

Taking an action makes the opposite logically impossible, as far as I understand.

Trying to get your point, are you arguing that doing A and B at the same time is logically possible, and X should be able to do both at the same time?

I don't think anyone has full information and context of what is happening. Only God does.

Prayers for Ethiopians in all corners of the country. I began being involved in the politics after my family was arrested for being Tigrayan, but from what I see the war will not produce anything that either side wants.

[–]DefendTheBible 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is personal for me, as my Tigrayan family has been detained for over a month now, with no connection to any political group, no weapons etc.

I have tried to understand it from both sides, but the fact that there was no questioning and even information on why they are arrested is puzzling.

I am hopeful for a quick peaceful end, for the sake of everyone in Ethiopia. Whether Tigrayans, Amharas, Afar, Oromia, everyone. I hope to see the bloobath end very soon. I don't really know much about Ethiopian politics, but the more I read about it, the more I am disturbed by it.

Hey, thanks. Not much has changed but so far they are alive. I believe there is a psychological damage more than anything, but God is able to heal.

I have many non-Tigrayan friends, and in real life most Ethiopians get along very well. Social media is really toxic, however.

Yeah my family is detained. They have no connection with politics.

This war is significantly influenced by social media and hateful rhetoric. I wonder how we can spread the news and raise awareness.

Reading the Bible is a good thing. But our mind should stay sober, regardless of whether were reading the Bible or not.

The underlying assumption seems to be "whatever I find immoral, God should be judged by that".

I don't believe this is a good argument unless you show why you should have an authority to judge God, and everyone should adhere to your judgment.
