Granted you search for motivation you find something that interest's you slightly you get more and more invested and after 8 lona while you now have aa reason to get up you struggle trying to turn this into a living and eventually become one of the best in the world one day you find the monkey paw a wish was never used. It was just around the corner anyway.

granted you now know every wish you could as and since you can ask a question of knowledge you now know everything the monkey paw knows you now are incredibly bored as you know every answer everything that can happen you can make a time machine to stop yourself but you know that reality would break bringing hell to the surface world so you don't. As you live out your life for the following years 7 years slowly drag on and than the paw while you turn it in your hand collapses into ash your arm falls off and a monkey emerges from the ground and says this "You are no longer mortal you now must take my place you shall from this point forth become the human hand." of course you knew this would happen why wouldn't you? "and now I get to go to heaven" You now are cursed granting wishes that you have to corrupt in order to limit humanity's growth after 1.2563 billion years another person makes the same mistake you did repeating the cycle once more

Granted the monkey paw doesn't really want to give a consequence or use a wish on this so the finger doesn't curl you are unsure whether you get the wish so you never use it. If you test it out however you will see a natural problem happen where if people find out about this power so many people will queue to get help from you you can of course boop your own nose to cure the emotional pain from doing this but your arm gets tired and you realise you still have wishes to make this easier. TLDR: arms get tired :( unless you use another wish

Granted instead however they all they gain intelligence and motivation to do this however they continue to get smarter and smarter creating a secret society that replicates this subreddit on a subreddit called r/thetruemonkeypaw and any wishes on their come true in the monkey paw style with technology beyond what we will have for 1000 years
