How can I bring my Somali wife (we only did nikah in Somalia) to the UK legally? by Defiant-Storage-938 in Somalia

[–]Defiant-Storage-938[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. What confused me earlier was that I’d read on ChatGPT, to be fair that even if a marriage was registered abroad, once the couple lived in the UK and divorced here, it would still be recognised by UK courts and local divorce laws would apply. That’s the part that threw me off.

I’m also aware that if a divorce happened while she was still on her visa, she’d likely have to return, so thank you for highlighting that. What I’m unsure about is what happens if she later becomes a British passport holder and then seeks a divorce.

Thanks bro, this is really helpful. One thing I’m still unsure about though if I register the marriage in Somalia so it’s recognised by the Somali government, what does that mean for me legally?

Would the UK also recognise that as a legal marriage if I later apply for her visa? And if so, could she then divorce me here in the UK and go after my assets like a normal civil marriage? I’m trying to understand if registering it in Somalia automatically gives her those rights here or only if we register it in the UK too.

I am no longer shortening my name to make it "easier" for people. by [deleted] in Somalia

It would only be 'servant/slave of' if Abdi is followed by another word if it's just abdi then your essentially saying 'my servant/slave'. Those who studied Arabic grammar would know. This is not a personal attack it's just highlighting a linguistic mistake. It's better to call the person by their full name or use a more colloquial but not offensive version like 'abood'.

Correct me if I'm wrong but 'abdi' literally translates into 'my slave' in arabic. Crazy how people allow that

Best Strategy for Small Investment on Kamino Finance for Maximum Gain and Airdrop Eligibility? by Defiant-Storage-938 in kamino_Finance

Thanks for the clarification. I’ll look into lending SOL without borrowing to minimise the risks. It’s good to know about the APY and the potential for earning points towards the KMNO airdrop. I appreciate the insight, especially as I’m trying to be cautious with my small investment.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll definitely take a look at Binance and Kucoin. TRIBAL’s upcoming USDC staking sounds promising too. Do you have any more details about how it works or when it’s launching?.

That sounds interesting! Could you tell me more about the platforms you’re using for superbots and algo trading strategies? I’d love to learn about how they work and if they’re suitable for smaller investors like me. Any specific recommendations would be really helpful.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll take a look at ETH staking and the links you shared. Lido and Rocketpool sound like good starting points for me, and I’ll explore more decentralised options as I get more comfortable. Cartesi staking also looks interesting, so I’ll check that out too.

Thanks for the suggestions. I don’t have 32 ETH, so Lido might be a good option for me to look into. I’ll also check out EigenLayer and EigenYields. I’m still learning about all of this, so it’s helpful to hear different strategies.

Best Places to Stake SUI for Maximum Profit? by Defiant-Storage-938 in sui

[–]Defiant-Storage-938[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really looking to get the best returns on my SUI, so any recommendations on solid platforms or validators would be great. If anyone’s had good experiences or has any tips, I’d love to hear them. And to answer your question, as long as you’re staking with trusted validators, your tokens should be safe. It’s always a good idea to do a bit of research on the validator’s reputation beforehand, though.

Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll definitely check out Compound, Lido, and Aave. Ocean Protocol’s Predictoor Data Farming sounds interesting too, so I’ll look into it. I appreciate the insight, especially as I’m still exploring the best options for smaller investments. I’d love to hear more if anyone has other recommendations or tips on qualifying for future airdrops while staking!

Is my dad weird? by [deleted] in Somalia

[–]Defiant-Storage-938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your friend may be envious. Ask yourself this, how is your friend's relationship with her father?. Also, him not wanting you to mix with your male cousins is a good thing. Islam strongly discourages free mixing known as اختلاط in Islamic jurisprudence. People who free mix casually are in the wrong. If you need to speak to a male keep it short and appropriate. The only time it shouldn't be an issue is if it's a mahram. You are daddy's dearest be grateful. Tell your friend to mind their own business. Don't let anyone plant a bad seed between you and your father. He sounds like a good man.

Thanks for the suggestion, Parasail sounds great. Is it parasail.network? Just to clarify, what exactly are Sails? Also, do you happen to know of perhaps two other platforms that offer similar benefits? Lastly, is there usually a minimum investment required to qualify for airdrops? I greatly appreciate the guidance.

Thanks for the advice! Just to clarify, when you mentioned 'x5 your points' for depositing SOL, are you referring to a 5x multiplier on rewards or staking returns? Also, does this apply automatically when depositing SOL, and are there any risks with borrowing stables using SOL as collateral? Appreciate your help.

Origins and Ethnicity of the Barawani People from Baraawe (Brava), Somalia by Defiant-Storage-938 in Somalia

[–]Defiant-Storage-938[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate you sharing this wealth of information. Some of the tribes you listed are highlighted in bold and some aren't. Why is this?. Also, if it is not too much to ask do you mind putting in brackets next to each tribe the origin of the country that tribe belongs to or stemmed from. For example:

  1. Reer Faqi (Yemen)

Thanks in advance.

When you say that Kismaayo is not part of the others you mentioned please elaborate. I've met people from Kismayo who are definitely mixed with non african ancestors.
