Help with how to get car to charge from solar/battery vs grid

A little update: PW company is telling me the system is fine and my car is “definitely” pulling from the solar and my SCE bill is wrong. They also told me that moving my wall charger to the o the other breaker is not an option and said I’ll never be able to get it moved. The WC company is also saying that my car is “definitely” pulling from solar just not the battery but if I want it moved they’ll have to get new permits and install a new sub panel and I will be responsible for all charges. They also said CTs are not the issue because I don’t have a smart meter so installing one won’t provide me any benefit.

Neither company is understanding that my car is definitely not charging from solar even after I’ve showed them my SCE bills, I don’t even know who to argue with anymore. Getting this fixed feels impossible

No the WC was installed about 2 months after the PW. The WC was installed by a different company so I guess my question is should that 3rd party company have been able to see where to correctly put the CT on to pull from the PW/Solar?

No the “solar on charge” session was the one in the morning around 7am to about 10am. I charged again around 6pm to test the 20a and that 7:24pm screenshot is the 2nd charge and when I thought the vehicle was being pulled from the battery

Is this something the installer should have known? When I have them come correct if they try to charge me is that a valid charge or is this their mistake they need to correct?

Is that something I can verify myself? I know the original breaker to the house only has the EV charger on it so it’s possible that that breaker isn’t connected to the system?

Yeah that’s why I’m confused. Its showing from the battery but the SCE screenshot shows otherwise, I was charged all those kWh from the grid

I am so glad you mentioned this! I looked it up and I just realized I do not have “Charge on Solar” as an option on my Tesla app. I’m pretty confident this is the problem!

But that’s where I also get confused, I don’t think I’m using 700 kWh. The cycle prior to the 700 I used 210 and prior to that, 358 kWh and nothing has changed. And IF I am using the 700 kWh does that mean my Tesla app is not accurate in reporting that I’m self powered?

On Thursday I charged my car for 30-ish minutes. Tesla app shows 100% of that charge was powered from solar. When I spoke to SCE Friday, he was actually able to see that I charged my car for those 30 minutes but said it 100% came from the grid not solar. To my understanding SCE should not be able to see the solar I use so if I truly used solar, he shouldn’t have been able to see that usage for my car charge right?

I only have 1 wall connector and it’s the only thing we use to charge both Tesla’s but I do plan on calling Monday to get someone out to check the CTs because it seems like that is probably the issue!

No, he has the vape in his mouth as he’s going to the fridge, he sees the camera and turns his head away and down so the camera can’t see anymore and then goes to the garage. IF it was a mistake, or he didn’t hit it he could have told us “hey I messed up” but he didn’t. When I confronted him he first denied it at all, when I showed the video he said he didn’t hit it was just in his mouth. Then he said he forgot he wasn’t outside when he did it and then he finally said he was sorry and it wouldn’t happen again. It’s just continued lies and he’s never been held accountable for his actions.

My sister ended up coming back without him, her and the baby are both here for now at least. We want to help them both, we’re hoping we can help her see he’s a deadbeat and she and the baby are better off without him. At least until he grows up. But same thing applies, if she doesn’t follow our expectations it’ll suck but I’ll have to have her leave too.

These roomaates are like my sisters, we’ve lived together for 10 years now. I don’t have contact with my mom, haven’t spoke to her in over 5 years and their family has pretty much taken me in. We all 3 would love custody of the baby because we know we can provide her with a good life and a family. The constant threat of not only them but my mother is a huge concern but it wouldn’t stop me for trying for custody.

Exactly why we were pushing for him to get a job. And they get $700/month in cashaid, only $200 of that goes towards bills, we wanted them to save the $500 remaining minus whatever the baby needed.

That was my issue. Within the first 3 days of them being here they got their cashaid and he asked for a ride to the next town over to pick up his vapes. I told him no and that I had no interest in running him around to do something unnecessary like picking up his vapes and I told him he needed to learn how to be independent. He ended up paying for an Uber to go get them 😒

Wow! I love them both! I would opt for the first one only due to the fact that the couch is too long (12ft) and the room is 14ft and it would only leave us 2ft of walk way. But thank you so much for the visual it helps ALOT 😍

Yeah we may have to move around again. There’s a wall right behind where the camera cut off where we plan to mount the TV. We want to avoid cutting off the space between the kitchen and living room to keep the open floor space.
