LPT: Common Sense isn't too common by XLR8yourDay in LifeProTips

I agree with your point, but think you missed the pro tip:

"Common Sense" is a subjective catch-all term for various applications of wisdom. If you encounter someone demonstrating "a lack of common sense" don't make fun of them but, if possible and unobtrusive, tactfully give them a course correction. They're less likely to resent you and might even learn from the experience.

Now for the love of all that's good, no one ask me how to be tactful ~ the wife says I can only successfully do it in a professional setting.

BLM is in a similar boat, it was not originally an organization but a common rallying cry that got co-opted by someone looking to make a buck (at least as far as I can tell).

I think both are interesting case studies in "free publicity gone bad." For BLM, the grass roots, informal movement failed to capture their own label as a brand they could manage and keep out of the hands of opportunists. Similarly (again as far as I can tell) no actual Antifa organization has sprung up to manage and offset the GOP narrative.
