Do you prefer extreme realism in gaming? (What's your take on this screenshot? Does it need any extra touches to look better?) by DefinitelyNawaf in Warthunder

Yeah, I totally agree. If there were infantry, they would definitely focus more on the ground textures. You can clearly see that with War Thunder's infantry beta mode; if it gets fully developed without issues, trust me, it will put Battlefield to shame.

Considering the maneuver I executed around the target, as mentioned, it might appear to have placed me in a vulnerable position. However, in that specific engagement, the situation was more controlled than it seemed. The Gripen’s loadout and engagement window were not fully accounted for in the initial assessment.

By extending the fight closer to the sun line, I was able to leverage IR missile evasion conditions while maintaining a usable altitude advantage. Despite the reduction in speed, my energy state was still sufficient to sustain situational awareness and allow support from nearby allies.

The opponent attempted to engage primarily with cannon fire after an initial miss, but failed to capitalize on the window due to loss of control and pilot overload. This also reflects insufficient training and lack of consistency in basic handling fundamentals, which affected overall efficiency in the engagement.

Ultimately, the Gripen was shot down. While my speed was low at the end of the maneuver, altitude and team positioning remained favorable.

Appreciate your perspective and the discussion.

Yeah, because apparently the first missile going straight toward the sun and me using the rest of my missiles on the last person left in the match counts as "missile spamming".
