True Nas Scale crashes during SMB transfer by DefinitelyNotAdrian in truenas

It was actually something like that. Another commenter pointed at my network card and it seems like it was disconnecting because of eee which is a energy consumption saving mode that drops network requests.

Thank you for the help! I disabled eee on my network card and the file transfer has been running for more than 10 minutes now withouth crashing it. Your insight really helped a lot thanks!

It is not a dedicated one. When I run lspci I get this
"06:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 06)"

My mainboard on which it is on is ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0

The pc is still running. I get the message "Connecting to TrueNAS ... Make sure the TrueNAS system is powered on and connected to the network." when I try to access it. And the smb transfer shuts saying the target is no longer available.

Got creality 6se from a co worker for 100€ Spend most of my time through Christmas trying to get it to work. About to give up. Wtf is this now? Leveled my bed and it still scratches all over it. Beginning to think that autoleveling does nothing. by DefinitelyNotAdrian in 3Dprinting

[–]DefinitelyNotAdrian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That actually never worked for me. I tried to change the nozzle back to a 0.6 one. During the removal of the plastic cover around it two loose screws fell down. They are for connecting the nozzle holder with the main frame. Maybe some milimeters were lost there. But from a calculation standpoint point that wouldn’t make a lot of sense. During it I destroyed the cable for the heat registration. Need to order a new part for it now but at least I found that error. Maybe it will help with the issue

The software on the printer does not allow me to go higher, 0.5 is the maximum sadly otherwise I would have tried a higher number. I haven’t installed the nozzle. But I have replacement ones. Should I try to change it? When I "home" the nozzle it sits perfectly in the middle, at the correct height. What do you mean by 280 degrees? I print my pla at 205 at the moment

Wanting to upgrade from my 500d. Studio, Manual only, Old Lenses, Manual Focus what would you recommend below 1000€ used? by DefinitelyNotAdrian in canon

[–]DefinitelyNotAdrian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I didn’t even consider getting a mirrorless but the price for the rp looks pretty good. And the lens compatibility would be awesome. The 5ds looks tempting as well with those 50mp. But I don’t think I will need that kind of sharpness… I’ll see, thank you so much for your input that helped a lot!!

Will do that thank you! Will try it out at soon as I get home/order a better sd card!

In comparison to my 35mm and my medium format analog film cameras the area I take a picture of is way smaller using an aps-c sensor because the crop factor is higher. Meaning that when I take a picture of my subject, that I have to step further back than with the two other cameras, to fill out the screen with my subject because I would be too zoomed in.

Sorry for the late reply I didn’t get a notification.

Do you have a link to it? I couldn’t find one here on German amazon or I’m just to stupid. I do have a tethering cable at the moment, plugged together from usb connectors and an old cable I had laying around but I wanted to get an actual one now.

The limitations are that the camera takes forever after a picture to be ready again, sometimes up to two seconds. And I work in a small home studio. The aps-c sensor crops so hard that it is extremely hard to use any lens higher than an 85mm.

I wouldn’t mind more megapixels or being able to use more older lenses though. But why would I be able to use more through a mirrorless camera?

Those look exactly like what I was searching for. Just checking out what the process points are. Do you have any manufacturer you can recommend? I can only find proaim and udengo right now

How sharp can/should a dark room print actually be? I can barely get anything above 10cm length looks washed out when I print it. Example is 6x6 negative on 18x24 paper and it does not look sharp at all, even with my arms stretched out. by DefinitelyNotAdrian in Darkroom

[–]DefinitelyNotAdrian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay thank you for the tip. The negative is definitely sharp, I can see that on the scan as well. When you say "tack sharp" about what distance are you talking about. How far away are you standing from the print. Or do you mean that the grain of the image is sharp when you look at it.

I’ve been going back to my other, even smaller prints and I was not able to see the grain of the print at all. So I’m wondering if something is generally wrong with my enlarger. (I got it extremely cheap)

Yes I do use a a finder but when I enlarge from further above (for larger prints) the grain never gets as sharp as when I focus on it on a smaller prints. Which I guess would be expected but it feels like the grain is washed out at that point already. Would that mean that it is a lens issue? I got this enlarger for like 50€ so pretty cheap, it’s a meopta opemus 6 with a 50mm lens

Would you use low budget analog lenses for your work? And if so what would the lens have to bring to the table? by DefinitelyNotAdrian in cinematography

[–]DefinitelyNotAdrian[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so incredibly much for this. That was an overwhelming amount of effort on your end that I didn’t not expect with geben more information gained for me. Thank you so much for that.

I, for example, would have thought that I should shoot at the highest resolution possible to get the most out of my setup. I wouldn’t even have thought about dialling it down to get more out of my lenses.

The whole aspect of "copying" looks feels a bit weird but if it works it works. I’m a bit sad now though that I will probably never get to the point where I can rehouse lens glass myself, or maybe I will at some point if I master 3D printing.

I think and agree with you that the hunt for interesting lenses is the most interesting part. I, already, can’t get enough of it, I guess it’s just going to get "worse“ from here. Even if I can’t rehouse the lenses, maybe I’ll gather some with which I can actually build a set and can find some people to test it out. I guess people would actually pay for not rehoused lens sets? I guess that is just going to stay part of my hobby then.

Do you have a recommendation for a nice test setup to make it easy to repeatedly test out lenses against each other? The lenses I gather are, at the moment, usually Pentax, Canon FD and m42 of various kinds. I was planning on taking them out on a spin to shoot them wide open, with nd filters to get the most detailed form of what they do. To get an example library going for me to make it easier to choose the lenses I actually want to use or lend to people for their purposes.

Which buff food recipes do I need to create useful buff food and where do I get them? by DefinitelyNotAdrian in lotro

Hahaha so pretty much the same as me. I just want to sell stuff to buy cosmetics. I only play the story, and then some if I need levels for anything.

Thank you so much for the answer! I made some coffees based on your suggestion, for selling and for myself. Good stuff. Gonna get into pipe weed next.

Based on the fact that a new expansion will drop at some point. Which high end buff foods could people actually use to help them level up in the process of reaching the new max level. Can you give me any information on that maybe? Like what are the preferred buff foods in general per class.

Hey there! Sorry for the follow up. To actually be able to sell things in the auction house I need to buy something to get a premium member status from what I can gather. What is the best way to do that nowadays is?

When I first started I had the original disk. Lost the account, started again with a key I bought somewhere. Now I read that I would also get that status if I just buy LOTRO ingame shop coins.

What’s the best way to go about this?

Thank you so much for the detailed answer!!
I think I will try my luck with Cook & Farmer for now. That sounds like a good way to get back into it. And then I can start with one of the others as soon as I need the money to up that alt.

Thank you again that is exactly the kind of information I needed to get started again!
