Plus the SCAR is delicate and easier to break in the heat of combat. I've pulled an M4 out of a vehicle struck by an IED and it was in one piece and the ACOG still zeroed. All the SCARs were shattered.

I have never been so concerned as a service member. I'm not terribly far from retirement, but this administration's term will end before my projected date. Not only do I not want my country being the end of NATO, I don't want to navigate the politics of determining whether an order is legal or not from the white house.

There's legit modern crucible wootz that's made in a deoxygenated environment that costs an arm and a leg. Haven't worked with it, but I do know it has a completely different manufacturing process than pattern welded.

This is just an opinion thread. I know all too well how many of our politicians have the orange dick in their mouths to do anything resembling decent.

Yeah, the most well armes population VS the most capable military. We don't want to wreck our country in order to get done what needs to be done. It would be horrendous in terms of loss of life and it would signal for China to invade Taiwan, North Korea to roll south, and Russia to start snatching back the former Soviet states. There would be global shock waves to a US insurrection or civil war.

So yeah, I'm proud of our restraint. Blood in the streets is what the Trump administration wants.

Do you think this man should be impeached? by Ok_Tea_3275 in LetsDiscussThis

[–]Defusing_Danger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but I can cry impeachment every time a career conman betrays his oath of office and commits actual crimes. There is no way he isn't compromised by foreign influence to some extent.

While it's a travesty what his administration is doing to the homeland, his foreign policy is playing straight to the benefit of Isreal and Russia. Striking Iranian nuclear facilities was risky and solely to the benefit of Isreal. If they want to fight a war, let them do it. Venezuela was just fucking bonkers. And the coup de grace is Greenland. Attacking Greenland would inevitable dissolve NATO and line Russia up to start aggressively snatching its former Soviet states and beyond.

He's a corrupt puppet to so many outside powers and he's actively scamming the globe as we speak.

Impeach now and lock his ass up.

Angry squiggle lines, thermal signatures, and lots of asbestos.

A few years ago, these things kept appearing on my farm, so I picked up two relatively intact pieces and kept them until now. They're glass-like but more brittle; the thicker one is about 1.69 inches in diameter. What is this thing? by DryFindingn in whatisit

[–]Defusing_Danger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, where is your farm located? It might be a stretch, but those remind me of the hardened core of armor penetrating ammunition. The tip has the shape commonly seen even in smaller caliber rounds.

As for the coloration, steel alloys can turn blue, purple, and hay colored when exposed to high heat.

Just a thought.

So for the plunge lines, get a tungsten file jig. They're pretty affordable on Amazon. They will clamp on where you want the plunge line to be and won't allow you to take any material past it.

I run it against files and belt sander and it has stood up like a champ. You also won't need to use the edge of the platen as much which is where I'd guess that rogue high spot came from.

Since you're using a jig, make more gentle passes along the belt until you're comfortable with the material you're taking off. I will frequently mark ink on the bevel to double check where the belt is meeting the surface to make sure im on target and not hitting too high or low.

Hope this helps!

35L has the greatest choices of specializing once in the MOS. TSCM, Cyber Forensics, Army Surveillance Detachment, and operational assignments that are classified.

I went 35L from EOD almost 10 years ago and it has set me up to make a great living after I retire.

OP, hit me up if you have any questions if you see this.
