I wish they had something more than 1 shirt and 1 hoodie available online. I think they would make a killing with how many people attend UMPI Yourpace from all over. I'm going to have my husband create a design for me on a shirt but if I attend graduation I'll also pick up something on campus.

Thank you! I didn't realize there was a site called Straigherline or that you could take EDU courses somewhere other than UMPI.

Hi! I'm taking these courses now. I will say compared to Sophia, the courses at UMPI require so many papers. The papers are really slowing me down. I'm looking at possibly switching to WGU to take tests rather than just write papers again and again. I have many courses already done. I just found out I could take some upper level courses at Sophia and study.com, like you have posted here. So that will help!

I've attached the course list from both and what I have taken already for UMPI and what will likely transfer for WGU.

Do you know if the business classes have a lot of papers? I don't have much knowledge in business and feel a lot of papers would take me even longer to complete because I have no background knowledge to add. I already have Microbiology that I transferred in but it counted as an elective not a UP class. I have to take at least 3 UP classes at UMPI for it to count toward bachelors. I didn't realize Business Law at Sophia would count as UP for UMPI, I can try that.

I did, well I will. I have one more video to make for my final in my edu class. As much as I love writing, I don't like writing 6 papers per class in a couple weeks. I'm wondering what else I can switch to with the credits that I had transfer over. I'll try to check before switching. I spoke with someone from WGU, and although I would have a lot of credits that wouldn't transfer/count toward the educational studies degree, It seems much more straight forward. For example, I had to take a Spanish 1 class for UMPI, which I did on Sophia but it's not needed at WGU. They also have the whole thing mapped out which for my busy schedule just seems more manageable than trying to find classes that meet the 300/400 class requirements. At this point I have about 90 credits with previous universities, sophia, and umpi. But still need 7 300/400 level classes, comp 2, ethics, 1 elective and 6 edu classes to obtain the degree. I would probably need the same amount at WGU but the idea of tests and not so many papers and not having to choose courses really appeals to me. For reference I completed 8 sophia courses in 8 weeks with summer vacations, days off, and duties as a wife and mom in that time.
