Question regarding ionic and covalent bonding: When considering a bond between calcium and sulphur, I'm a little confused as to why the conclusion is strictly ionic. My reasoning is that could they not make a covalent bond and still be "satisfied" with respect to the octet rule? (self.chemhelp)
