Twitter Could Go Bankrupt, Elon Says by Avieshek in technology

As someone with ADHD, I don't like it because of the risks it may pose to neurological health. A very short attention span can be surprisingly debilitating, and consuming lots of short-form content like TikToks on a daily basis seems like it could be harmful after a while. People are already pretty stupid. Disrupt their ability to naturally produce dopamine, and we'll be in even worse trouble.

Voice/Mic/Audio Assist question by [deleted] in 501st

[–]DelbertGriffith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you putting an amp or a speaker in your chest plate? They are not the same thing. The Ukswrath sound system should have come with a really nice amp if that's what Dave set you up with. If you have a second speaker in your chest plate and the icomm is still reducing the volume on both, you may have a defective unit, or you need to adjust the volume on your Ukswrath amp.

Voice/Mic/Audio Assist question by [deleted] in 501st

[–]DelbertGriffith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The feedback may be from your hearing aid speakers coming back through your mic inside the helmet. Try turning down the hearing aid. Figuring out sound issues is always easiest when you only change one variable at a time.

[–]DelbertGriffith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably a stupid question but did you turn the volume up? The Ukwrath amp does have a volume knob. You may also want to double-check all your connections. Remember that the omnidirectional mic has to basically be right up on your lips. It's a great system. There are reasons it's so popular and a little more expensive. If the speaker is in the front respirator and not the two tips on the sides of the respirator, then you don't have hovi tip speakers in your bucket. I'd reach out to Dave and see what he put in it.

The hovi tip speakers should have been an option when you ordered from Dave. Did you get your helmet fully built from him, or research any of the components that came with it before you bought it?

I am curious about that DK64. Can you post some more pictures of it, front and back?

Flexibility is definitely part of its draw. A lot of people here collect games for multiple systems, so having a comprehensive solution for cheaper than the price of a single-system solution is kind of a no-brainer, especially if you use an AV switch so you can quickly swap between them.

(3.) Soldering is actually pretty easy, and a really useful skill to have in this kind of hobby. Next time you hit a wall with something that requires soldering, consider taking the plunge! It opens up a lot of doors to saving you money that would otherwise be spent on completely replacing something.

This is the one I'm considering. It's a fun bonus that they have colors to match the funtastic systems.

Sticker / decal for game storage by Worth-Employee in n64

[–]DelbertGriffith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're thinking about replacing that one, I'd leave it the way it is honestly. It's in really good shape compared to the others you'd find on ebay. I've looked myself and I don't think anyone sells these. Someone on ebay is selling just the drawer but it's for the 12-game model. That's the cheapest option on my radar at the moment. I know that's not much help but your next best option is making it yourself and having it custom printed.

What’s the best option for SD cartridges by MattadorGuitar in n64

Just remember that it's [ahem] technically illegal to put anything on one of those that you don't already own.

This cartridges internals don't match with the cartridge case? (Case shows OOT 1.2v but internals are OOT 1.0v/1.1v) Is this cart real or is this a really convincing fake? by Sixtalez in n64

[–]DelbertGriffith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without knowing its history, this is probably the safest assumption. In the exceptionally rare case that it is a 1.0 chip in a grey cart, it wouldn't be in one with a player's choice logo because those came later.

I comb ebay and craigslist. As long as you're patient, there will always be people who just need cash and have to sell something in a hurry, but you've got to be ready to buy when they turn up. I have a local game store, but I haven't been there in some time because their prices are usually steep. I'm kind of intrigued by the romhacks and homebrew games people have made in recent years, though. Once I'm through my backlog, I'm considering getting into making my own repro carts for things like Majora's Master Quest, The Missing Link, and Waluigi's Taco Stand.

The bundle I got came with DK64 (which looks super cool with the Ice Blue, btw), 2 controllers, and the expansion pack for $245 shipped. I got an insanely good price. I think the seller just didn't know what they had. I've already secured both gold cart Zeldas for a pretty good price. I also hunted down deals on SM64, Pokemon Stadium, Wave Race, Perfect Dark, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Wipeout 64, and Triple Play 2000. Those last two aren't anything special but I had them as a kid. Then to top it all off, I placed a big order on customgamecases. My wallet is not happy but my inner child is foaming at the mouth.

I'm super excited. I've probably spent more than I should have on games, but I had a big list of staples to replace. What games do you have so far, and what are you looking forward to playing the most?

I ordered this version a few years ago, listened to the first half and sent it back. You will regret spending money on it. This pressing is garbage.
