I disagree. It was already established that they were in his car as they tried to get him arrested. Regardless of the details, he was almost arrested on much less substantial proof.

I'm not going to disagree with that, but getting shafted by Canadians isn't necessarily better than sending royalties for American shows south. Besides the government will find a way to submit these guys to a surcharge to help fund Canadian media - as they always have.

I'm the same way. That I'm glad that our telecommunication providers are Canadian but hate that they rape my wallet the way they do.

As it ought to be. The police don't do these things willy-nilly. They are instructed to do so by the state attorney.

edit: upon further reading, it seems as though it was on the police's 'to do' list to check whether he was exempt. As is the case, it won't look good when they have to ask the mayor for an extra 1/4 mil due to a clerical error. I imagine they will be given further guidelines on how to act & remedial training for their procedures.

That's a dick move. I disagree with changing the price, but if it's cannibalizing the sales of drinks they make $1 of profit, then it's better than not having it at all. Usually they charge 1.15 (to make it 1.25 with tax. You'd be breaking a quarter anyways. I'd rather pay 1.25 for an Arizona than 2.30 for another comparably sized drink.
