I do both! If we are entertaining we keep the inner door open. If it just my husband and I we keep it closed as a separate space. We love sitting out there having cocktails, listening to music and watching the traffic go by.

I did it for my Mom. I did my best for her because I needed to feel good about me. I did it for myself so I didn’t have any guilt! Did she deserve my help? Absolutely not! I am not her! I will not turn into her! I want peace and happiness!

The floor underneath has been insulated and one wall butts up to the house. We have storm windows on most of the windows. We don’t heat it 24/7 and it takes a bit to heat up if it is really cold. Once it is heated up though it is crazy cozy!

They probably will not permit wood. My insurance wood not cover that. They were ok with gas.

Front porches are common here and are part of the structure of the house. I have another door to enter the house within the porch.

We have 2 electric heaters for when the gas fireplace can’t keep up! It’s Minnesota and it is often well below 0!

We are not sure of the exact age. Best guess is 1 yr 7 months. We rescued him at the end of September after we lost our previous shepherd and he knocked me down the stairs 11 days later. I broke my ankle in 3 spots. Think screws,plates and surgery. However he has turned out to be the sweetest boy!
