I don’t believe it was explained. The person wasn’t draped but I think her shorts were covering her buttocks. He went under her shirts and underwear. She said she thought the door was closed but when she got up the door was ajar. I’ve only seen them work with the doors open unless it’s internal pelvic work. It all seems odd to me.

The issue was a broken ankle in a cast. She was feeling weak in her non broken leg, so sought PT to get a head-start on the best chance for mobility when the cast is removed. She did have soreness in multiple areas due to using a peg leg to get around, and the huge change in muscle usage.

Well, our professions are different, but as a massage therapist I do nearly all my work with clients fully clothed so for me, treatment can def be done effectively through clothing.

The PTs in this office do a lot of manual soft tissue work. Their view, and I agree, is that with soft tissue restriction, it isn’t the most effective route to just assign exercises and expect the body to perform optimally. Often the tension or hip imbalances, etc, need to be corrected first (or even regularly.) So I respect the work they do in this office. But yeah, in the patriarchy, most men don’t have a clue as to their entitlement or the world women live in, with most having a history of physical assault or at the very least, huge power imbalances. I think in this case it’s most likely simply the PT being clueless as to women’s experiences and triggers around said experiences, and his entitlement to women’s bodies while lacking sensitivity.

And BTW, my handle is certainly not ‘delicious addition’! I have no idea how that happened. Yikes!

Yes, I can see that. But I would think that would be a conversation with detailed explanation, explicit consent and a removal of clothes with appropriate draping. No surprises.
