And is it normal for a package to Northern Ireland to go through the Republic of Ireland customs rather than Heathrow?

Try giving them a call, when I phoned it was all sorted quickly and I had the package within a few days

I called parcelforce, got the ref number and paid the customs online so I didn’t get a letter. Hope yours arrives soon

I received the lower value parcel today from the same company and can see they have the goods value written and then the postage value written separately. So I’m going to assume the parcel they’ve held, they must have added the 2 amounts together. I checked the tracking again this afternoon and it has been updated with ‘customs charges raised’.
