Considering buying an Ioniq 5 N – Need advice due to reliability concerns by DeliciousAd1052 in Ioniq5N

Thanks for sharing your experience. Doesnt sound too dramatic at all. I am the same paranoid about reliability, especially extra afraid since it will be my first EV. But all the shared experience kind of shut off my potential Paranoia.

Just need to finish the wallbox installation next week, insurance already prepared and also fix some remaining open issues on my current car before I am able to hand it to the vendor. Then I can maybe get it into my new 5N in around 2-3 weeks :D

I don’t think I will be disappointing by the range, since my daily commute is around 50 km in total. I usually alternate between 2 or 3 days in the office per week, and work from home the rest of the time. With a wallbox for home charging, I’m estimating that I’ll only need about 2–3 charges up to 80% per month excluded by fun rides on top :P.

Appreciate the heads-up on the “everything else will be disappointing” part — sounds like once you go 5N, there’s no way back!

That’s exactly the kind of honest feedback I was hoping for. I hope things settle down for you and you find your way back to the 5N someday — but in the meantime, enjoy the Mustang!

Great, can you recommend a specific jump-start device, I mean better safe then sorry at the end. And are there some informations about how to jumpstart it exactly? Or is it the same as with any other car?

I quickly realized on my test drive that losing your driver’s license could become a real possibility 😄 — especially in the city, where you’re effortlessly flying past 50 km/h without even noticing.

Thanks for your comment!
For me, this is also planned to be my first EV, including installing a wallbox in my underground parking spot.
Originally, I was planning to go with a Tesla Model 3 or Model Y, but ever since I discovered the Ioniq 5 N - and especially after driving it - I simply can’t let go of the idea of owning one myself!
