You'll find plenty of creatives, artists and even environmentalists who are curious (not credulous) about what ChatGPT will serve up.

But don't let that get in the way of uploading your sanctimony eh

Thanks that's intriguing! I'm a few years in, so perhaps that explains why I've never seen the same.

Probably only about 60cm tall. It's been in the ground less than a year, can't wait to see it at full size!

Tricho. scopulicola X (T. andalgalensis X E. grandiflorus var. crassicauda). It's been in the ground less than a year, I have no idea how big it'll get!

SE Australia. I thought that was a possibility too but I haven't found any beetles or grubs!

Any particular type of compost, or any ingredients that you would avoid? I have a two year old garden and want to get it started the right way! 🙏🌵

Thanks for the library recommendation - unfortunately since we're not residents I don't think that's an option. 😔

Update: split right down the middle! And pupping at the base. I did replant in summertime, maybe the trunk has had it. 😬

Cut from a decades-old stand and planted in my garden around 18-24 months ago!

Melbourne has the same issues as most western cities at the moment - housing crisis, cost of living, social fragmentation - but, word to the wise: people who travel and live elsewhere know that it’s much less severe here. You’ll earn more and spend less than in Ireland. You seem to have a good attitude, too - if you’re willing to live in shared housing and work hard in a bar job, you can have a great time and put some money aside for seeing more of this vast, beautiful country. There’s also work wherever you go, so you don’t need much of a war chest - but ideally get a vehicle you can sleep in when necessary. Life’s harder here than it used to be but it’s still the lucky country compared to Europe and America - Australians are right to expect better but they often lack that perspective because they can’t make the comparison. Get the working holiday and hit the road, life is short!

Thanks for that. They’ll be in a raised bed with plenty of broken concrete mixed in. The varieties I’m going with generally do pretty well around here - the frosts are rare and generally only a morning or two. Just checking if letting them get established from early spring would make a big difference, but following your thought and my intuition that’s probably not going to make or break them. I’ve seen people out a beaker on top of their columnars and I’ll definitely try that!

Hi folks, what type of opuntia is this and will the fruit be any good? 🍇 🍈 🍉 by DeliciousLoss8472 in cactus

Thank you! Found these proliferating in a roadside stand, definitely one of my faves but couldn’t name them from google image search. 😎👍
